She is passionate about fitness.

1

She Cut Out Alcohol

Storm says she eliminated all alcohol from her diet, and has never felt better. "You know, in your early 20s when you are working, living a fast-paced lifestyle, like anyone, you are not constantly making the best lifestyle choices," she tells Muscle & Fitness. "Sometimes there's some bad food on the road, maybe some drinks after the shows, and that really caught up with me because I was just constantly on the road for years with no routine, not getting enough sleep. All of those things started to weigh heavy on me but now I don't drink any alcohol. I've noticed an immense difference. My workouts and everything has totally changed."

She Takes Long Walks With Her Pup

Aside from hitting the gym, Storm loves taking her dog on long walks. Having a pet offers significant health benefits, experts say. "Simply petting an animal can decrease the level of the stress hormone cortisol and boost release of the neurotransmitter serotonin, resulting in lowered blood pressure and heart rate and, possibly, in elevated mood," says Marwan Sabbagh, MD, Director of Cleveland Clinic's Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.

She Ignores the Trolls

Storm knows being in the public eye can be tough, but she refuses to let it affect her mental health. "People can say what they want about me and that's none of my business," she says. "You know, the birds are still gonna sing the next morning and I'm gonna get up and go to the gym and continue to better myself and stay in the zone. It can be really hard for a young woman to adopt that strong mentality but I urge every young woman to just take care of their head, number one, and not listen to anyone, not care about what strangers have to say."

4

She Is Vegan

Storm has followed a vegan diet for years, but finds it challenging to make healthy choices while traveling. "In 2016, I signed a contract to wrestle in Japan…," she tells Train For Her. "To add to the challenges, I lead a vegan lifestyle. Japan is an intense place to be, but it's also one of my favorite countries. It is largely a meat-eating country, so if you don't eat meat, you are tempted by a lot of carbs such as rice. I really love rice, but you do have to limit yourself when eating it all the time. Since many foods contain meat and the ingredients are usually written in Japanese, I stick to safe choices like Tofu, which thankfully they have everywhere."

5

She Loves Pizza

Storm enjoys eating pizza—in moderation. While pizza isn't exactly a healthy food, experts say it can be incorporated into a balanced diet, even for people working on getting in shape. "If you want to lose weight, you need to create a calorie deficit," says registered dietician Briana Rodriquez. "You'll want to focus on eating quality, nutritious foods the majority of the time, but if you want some pizza, you don't have to deny yourself! Enjoy a slice and pair it with a  salad or lots of green vegetables."
