Ariana told The Mirror that she has avoided chemicals in food her entire life. "I've eaten organically since I was little," she said. "Organic foods are clearly healthier for the planet, because they support an agricultural system that avoids synthetic fertilizers and pesticides and promotes a more biodiverse ecosystem, with attention to the health of waterways, soil, air, wildlife, farm workers, and the climate," says Harvard Health.

Eat Vegan

After watching the documentary Forks Over Knives in 2013, Ariana went from being a minimal meat eater to totally vegan. "I love animals more than I love most people, not kidding," she told The Mirror. "But I am a firm believer in eating a full plant-based, whole-food diet that can expand your life length and make you an all-round happier person."

Eat Lots of Fruits and Veggies

Ariana's diet involves tons of produce. It is tricky dining out, but I just stick to what I know–veggies, fruit, and salad–then, when I get home, I'll have something else," she told The Mirror. While she is Italian, she doesn't eat the cuisine anymore. One of her favorite ethic foods? Japanese, per her trainer Harley Pasternak. "She loves daikon, lotus, adzuki beans—almost like a macrobiotic Japanese [diet]," he told Glamour in 2015.

Ariana keeps herself fueled up with healthy snacks. "I've had at least five strawberries a day since I can remember. They're my favorite food!" she revealed in one tweet. She also snacks on almonds and cashews. "They make great healthy snacks to keep me energized throughout my day!" she told Shape

Ariana prioritizes hydration. In addition to drinking lots of water, she is obsessed with coconut water. "I always have a bottle next to me," she told Shape. According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine men should drink about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day and women about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids

Pasternak sets a daily minimum of steps for the singer. "I give [Ariana] a step goal every day, whether she'll be dancing to get that step goal or watching her favorite movies while walking down the treadmill really slowly," he explained to Popsugar. "Twelve-thousand steps a day and she hits it. I can't imagine her being still."

Avoid Junk Food

Ar "The reason why I lost so much weight as I did is because I used to live on junk food," Ariana confessed in a Tumblr post (per E! Online). "So I drastically changed my eating habits, started exercising daily, and I'm all around a healthier me."

Do Pilates

Ariana revealed in one of her Instagram Stories (via Eat This, Not That) that her Pilates reformer was her "Happy place," tagging Los Angeles-based studio Forma Pilates. According to research, Pilates exercises are designed to increase muscle strength, endurance, and flexibility, and to improve posture and balance. Experts maintain that it is a great workout for leaning out.
