She Prevents Things From Happening To Her Skin
Vergara has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it. She tells New Beauty that one of her biggest secrets is making sure to prevent damage from happening. "I believe, more than fixing anything, in preventing. Once you get the wrinkle, once you get the sagging neck, that's it. There's no cream that is going to fix you. So, prevention, prevention, prevention!"
She Doesn't Obsess Over What She Eats
Vergara is a cancer survivor, and she tells Health that this experience has made her re-evaluate her life. She says that she no longer obsesses over what she eats. "For a while, I got really crazy about what I was eating," Vergara says. "But then, you realize you can't live like that. You go to restaurants, and you have to eat something. You have to live your life."
She Reset Her Priorities
Vergara tells Health that beating cancer made her reset how she approaches life. She says that she doesn't get too worked up over small things. "When you go through something like this, it's hard, but you learn a lot from it. Your priorities change. You don't sweat the small stuff. And it had a good ending."
She's Charitable
Vergara supports a lot of different charities. She tells Health that she wants to give back to her native Colombia, and opened up about something she is doing. "Through the charity I sponsor, we are building a cancer center in my hometown of Barranquilla. I visited the cancer ward of a hospital in Colombia, and parents were just sitting on the floor while their kids were being treated. When you're a mother and your kid is sick, you feel it yourself. I want to set up a comfortable place for parents."
She Keeps Her Skincare Simple
Vergara has rosacea on her skin, which affects her skincare routine. She says that she has adopted a simpler routine for this reason. "I've been struggling with that for six or seven years," she told Who What Wear. "It's hard because I get really red, so I've realized that I've had to treat my skin like sensitive skin, where I didn't before. I can't really wear rich moisturizers or rich oils. Now I have to keep it simple."
