She Avoids Dairy
Amfo opened up about her wellness routine to GQ. She says that being a broadcaster means she has to be careful about what she eats. Amfo avoids a certain type of food in particular. "I try and avoid dairy," she says. "Right now I'm sipping a coconut latte. Because it makes me bloated and can make your vocal chords phlegmy. Can't really introduce Lana Del Rey going bleggghhhhh."
She Works Out In The Morning
Amfo has a busy schedule, which means she doesn't always have time to workout. However, she makes fitness a priority, and fits in a workout when she can. "I've got my radio show on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday," she tells GQ. "I need to be in the studio at nine in the morning and I try to get a workout in before."
She Eats A Balanced Diet
Amfo tells GQ that she believes in eating a balanced diet. "I have a ridiculous sweet tooth and I'll never not have a cake. Life's too short. I tried being vegan for a bit and it made a difference in my energy levels and my skin, but I can't say I don't love the taste of a great steak. But I definitely don't eat half as much meat as I used to. I try to eat ethically."
She Works Out With Friends
Amfo tells GQ that she likes to workout with her friends. She says that they help her stay motivated. "I'm very lucky to have two good friends who are down to train me. We've all got crazy schedules and have different disciplines, but they make me appreciate my body as a machine. They're not about trying to be skinny. There are certain fitness collectives that have 'skinny' names and that's not my vibe."
She Eats A Healthy Breakfast
Amfo revealed some of her favorite foods to The Guardian. She says that she makes sure to eat a healthy breakfast. "Every morning, at about 7.30, I start with a splash of apple cider vinegar and echinacea in hot water. And then I'll have my porridge – if I eat too much wheat, the way my belly protrudes and I look as if I'm seven months pregnant. I have it with almond milk, loads of cinnamon and agave syrup.
