She Hydrates

Sofía drinks a lot of water to keep her body hydrated. According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine men should drink about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day and women about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids. "Researchers found that the participants who drank the most plain water in their daily diet consumed fewer total calories, drank fewer sweetened beverages, and took in less total fat, saturated fat, sugar, salt, and cholesterol. In fact, they discovered that increasing plain water consumption by one to three cups a day could decrease calorie intake by 68 to 205 calories a day. That could add up to a lot fewer calories over time — and result in significant weight loss," says Harvard Health.

Sofía maintains that when she is too consumed with how she looks, it backfires. "In February of last year, I began to increase uncontrollably; I am a size conscious person and have struggled with being skinny. I pushed through exercise and diet, but the more I became obsessed with it, the less results I saw," she said, per Reforma

Sofía maintains that there is no one-size-fits-all diet. "The diet that he puts depends on each person, in my case, it was removing a lot of foods with hormones, to begin with, animal protein, he changed me for a little while to a vegan diet, which I am no longer on that one, because I am already resuming my life little by little," she said about how her nutritionist approached her diet.

Sofía's husband, Eduardo Videgaray is her biggest cheerleader. She maintains he has helped her "by supporting me, motivating me and recognizing my achievements. At first, I went down much slower, so I would go to the doctor and get desperate, but he told me that the difference was noticeable," she said.

Sofía often experiences bloat due to a health condition. "I have gastritis, very bad, and I got used to the fact that, suddenly, no matter how thin I am, no matter how much I go on a diet and do a lot of exercise, I have a gastritis, nervous colitis that I can see myself like this, flat, flat, flat and I can see a tummy and no way," she told Hola.

She Walks

Sofía also likes to go on walks. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.
