Working Out First Thing

Hamilton works out as soon as she's up for the day. "I always think it's good to get your workout done first thing in the morning because once you've got up and had a shower it's really difficult to then motivate yourself to exercise," she says. "By the end of the day everyone's feeling tired because they've been working… so it's difficult to exercise then. I think it's good to just get up, get your gym gear on and start the day with your workout and then it's done for the day."

Healthy, Protein-Packed Breakfast

Hamilton enjoys Greek yogurt with berries for breakfast. "Thanks to the straining process used to make regular Greek yogurt it is an especially good source of bioavailable protein, with approximately 5.7g of protein per 100g," says registered nutritionist Nicola Shubrook. "Greek yogurt is a good source of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus – minerals essential for bone health. Indeed, studies suggest that diets which include foods, like yogurt, may support bone mineral density. When combined with lifestyle factors, like a resistance exercise programme, yogurt may help support bone strength through reducing bone resorption."

Abs Are Made In the Kitchen

Hamilton knows the importance of good nutrition for overall health and wellness. "Looking good and feeling great is 70 percent nutrition and 30 percent exercise," she says. "You can exercise as much as you want but it's no good if you're not following a healthy, nutritious diet. I try to have a balanced diet, especially as I have young children, because I want to be a healthy role model for my kids. I do try and avoid things like sugary sweets but when you own a coffee shop and restaurant like we do it's difficult!"

Low-Carb Lunches

Hamilton enjoys low-carb lunches consisting of protein and vegetables. "For lunch, I might have salmon with cauliflower rice, or a steak salad with lots of broccoli and spinach," she says. "We've long been told that fish is 'brain food', and there's convincing evidence to support this," says registered nutritionist Jo Lewin. "Studies suggest regular consumption reduces age-related brain loss and may improve memory – it's the omega-3 fatty acids that are responsible for this. Studies investigating the role fatty varieties of fish play have seen benefits for conditions like Alzheimer's disease, depression and multiple sclerosis."

She Protects Her Skin

Hamilton is strict about protecting her skin from the sun. "I always wear an SPF," she says. "After Covid and when filming for A Place in the Sun had paused for five months, I noticed my skin was more sensitive to the sun. I've never had a skin cancer scare, but my uncle and late grandfather both had it, so I am mindful of protecting my skin. I use Murad skincare and make-up from IT Cosmetics, which contains SPF 50. I mix that with a MAC Studio face and body tint, which lasts throughout the day, topped with a bit of powder."
