They have been linked to better sleep and even found helpful to minimize anxiety and depression. One recent study even found that they may even boast cardiovascular benefits. "Sleigh queen," she captioned this post.
She Exercises
Smith enjoys exercising. "I'll be honest, I love g0ing to the gym," she told New! Magazine. "It's my happy place where I can work on myself." Smith also admits that the lockdown did stunt her fitness. "In lockdown it was closed and I didn't do one home workout. I just couldn't be bothered." Physical activity is anything that gets your body moving. Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle-strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans
She Doesn't Starve Herself
Smith refuses to starve herself. When she was prepping for Strictly, she told Heat that she had to eat more to fuel herself for the training. 'It's weird. Everyone always says 'Going on the show you're just going to shed the weight. But I haven't noticed that about myself because I eat triple the amount of food I was eating before,' she said. "I think I'm the only celeb to actually put on weight."
She Does Yoga
Aside from rigorous workout sessions at the gym, Smith is a big fan of yoga. "I have always loved keeping active, especially with yoga," she told The Sun. There is a laundry list of reasons to do yoga, explains Harvard Health. "Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood," they said. "People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating."
She Walks
Masie loves going for walks with her loved ones – a great way to bond and burn calories. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.
