1

Hiking

Aitana loves to go on long hikes in beautiful locations. "Like all forms of exercise, hiking is one of the best ways to lose weight and is a method of stabilizing cholesterol levels," says the American Hiking Society. "On average, you burn 100 calories for every mile you walk."

2

Horseback Riding

Aitana is a big animal lover and enjoys horseback riding. "We all know riding horses is good exercise," says Dr. Dennis Sigler, a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service horse specialist and professor in the department of animal science at Texas A&M University in College Station. "Riding a horse for 45 minutes at a walk, trot and canter can burn up to 200 calories. If you do something a bit more strenuous such as cutting or reining, that can come out to nearly seven calories per minute for the entire length of the riding period."

3

Swimming

Aitana shares many images of herself swimming both in pools and the sea. "There's also a relaxing, meditative side to swimming," says Harvard Health. "It can come with letting your mind drift as, bathed by soothing water, you focus on your breathing and your movements. This stress-busting aspect could contribute to the cardiovascular benefits of swimming."

4

Paddle Boarding

Aitana loves paddleboarding, which experts say is great for supporting a strong core. "Back pain is a huge issue for a lot of people and not engaging the core well is often one of the major culprits of aches and pains," says Rachel Williamson, a physical therapist at UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies. "You may not get a six-pack (abs) from paddle boarding but you will strengthen those deep transverse abdominal muscles which act as your body's natural back brace."

5

Surfing

Surfing is another of Aitana's hobbies. Hiking is not only a fun and invigorating activity, it's a great workout. "Surfing can definitely be considered a form of interval training which combines short, high intensity bursts of speed with a recovery phase, repeated during exercise training," says CSUSM professor Dr. Sean Newcomer.
