She Eats Healthy

Gomez's trainer, Amy Rosoff Davis, opened up about Gomez's diet in an interview with Byrdie. "Last year on Selena's revival tour, I made sure the dressing room always had veggies and protein and brown rice or whole grains," Davis says. "I made a lot of rice bowls with veggies, protein, and avocado for Selena. It helped give her energy and stamina, which she needed to get through her shows. I also made healthy chicken salad with grapes and celery—it quenched her thirst and the protein filled her up."

She Stays Hydrated

In addition to eating healthy, Gomez makes sure to stay hydrated. Davis opened up about Gomez's go-to beverages to Byrdie. "We always drank lots of water and had green tea when we needed a pick me up," she says. "It sure was exhausting at times."

She Adjusts Her Workouts Depending On The Day

Davis also opened up about Gomez's workout routine to Byrdie. She says that Gomez's workouts depends on how she feels. "My first priority when training Selena is" listening to her body," she says. "Which everyone should do when it comes to working out. Sometimes we just do yoga and stretching, and sometimes we hit it hard. Working out, just like life, should be a balance."

She Switches It Up

Davis tells Byrdie that she likes to do different workouts with Gomez. "If you keep your same old routine, you will most likely get bored and wind up skipping the gym. Working out should be a part of your lifestyle, not an obligation or burden. [Selena and I] do everything from Pilates to hiking to dance cardio to circuit training to yoga and Spinning—the list goes on."

She Promotes Positivity

In her AppleTV documentary, My Mind & Me, Gomez opened up about life in the public eye. She revealed that the medications she has to take for her lupus cause weight gain. Unfortunately, this led to her being body shamed on social media. In the documentary, Gomez opened up about her experience, and promoted positivity. "I was posting these things saying, 'it doesn't bother me,'" she says. "Because I didn't want it to bother other people who are experiencing the same thing. Getting shamed for what they look like, who they are, who they love. I just think it's so unfair. I don't think anybody deserves to feel less than."

She Educates Herself

On an Instagram Live with Miley Cyrus, Gomez revealed that she has bipolar disorder. She says that she is working on educating herself about it. "Recently, I went to one of the best mental hospitals in the world, but definitely in America, McLean's Hospital, and I discussed that after years of going through a lot of different things, I realized that I was bipolar," Gomez said. "And so, when I got to know more information, it actually helps me. It doesn't scare me once I know it. And I think people get scared of that, right?"

She Takes Care Of Herself

Gomez opened up about how she takes care of her mental health on Miley Cyrus' Instagram Live. "Sometimes I gotta cry it out and I've got to release it and just take a deep breath and then remind myself, go back to my tools, which is, 'okay, where is this coming from?' I understand I'm a big empath, so I feel so much of what the world is feeling, so maybe I need to take a step back from that, or whatever it is."
