Hailee Steinfeld Shares the Workout That Helps Her Stay Strong

The singer and actress shares the key fitness habits that keep her strong and healthy.

Known for her role in Sinners, the new mom, singer, actress, and all-around business guru Hailee Steinfeld finds time between her family life, career, and adapting to motherhood to prioritize her health and wellness. Here are five ways that she keeps her body fit and healthy as she navigates her packed schedule.

She hydrates

She stays hydrated to take care of her body. “I’ve gotten to a point where, if I don’t hydrate, my body lets me know very quickly,” she said in an interview with Shape. She can feel the shift in her mood and even notice it in her skin. She partnered with Core Hydration, prioritizing her hydration. “I love the bottles that have the little markers of encouragement on them,” she said.

Her goal is to feel her best. “How amazing that in working out and in working out properly, you get to reap physical benefits from that,” she said. She enjoys working out with her Dad, who’s a personal trainer. “I always feel the need to say that [he’s a personal trainer] because sometimes I’m like, ‘I work out with my dad,’ and people are like, ‘oh that’s cute,’ and I’m like, ‘oh no, it’s not cute,'”she said.

She pushes herself

When Hailee started prepping for her Hawkeye role, she wanted to really push herself and get into excellent shape. “I knew I wanted to get to a place physically that anything could be thrown at me on the day [if I got the role],” she explained, telling Shape that she was even performing bear crawls for the distance of a football field to get ready for the role. “That was short-lived,” she laughed.

She likes to switch up her workouts

Strength training is something Hailee really prioritizes. It’s “very challenging and very hard but so much fun,” she said. She looks to her Dad (also her trainer) to “switch it up and keep it fresh,” she continues. “My dad knows me and knows what I’m capable of more than anyone. He pushes me to the best of my ability, and I come out stronger every single time.”

She practices yoga and pilates

If she’s not training intensely, she likes to stay active with yoga and pilates. “I think finding your balance is truly about finding your happiness and being patient with yourself and being kind to yourself,” she said. “It is a term that we hear a lot along with a lot of suggestions as to maybe how to find that balance, but I think you are the one, the only one, that can really define what that is for you.”
