Kate Hudson Shares the Workout Routine She Uses to Stay Lean

The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days actress Kate Hudson has always had fitness at the forefront of her mind. In addition to her career in films, the actress focuses on her health and wellness, through both brands and her daily lifestyle. Here are five things she does as a workout routine to keep her mental and physical health in check.
She squeezes in quick workouts

Kate Hudson is a big believer that you don’t need to set aside hours a day to reach your fitness goals. Sometimes, if you’re strategic, it can be accomplished in as little as 20 minutes. She said to Allure, “people think you need two hours a day to [train], and that’s bullshit. If you work out 20 minutes a day… you’re going to see changes.’
She likes to stay active

Hudson likes to move her body, leading to her mental and physical health being in a good place. “I need to be moving to feel good,” she said to People. “Even just making time for a little movement every day — going for a walk, doing a few minutes on the treadmill, some Pilates, or if I have more time for it, I love hot yoga.”
It’s about the mental clarity,

Keeping your mind clear and in a positive space is just as important as physical strength. “I really enjoy sweating it out, and it helps me clear my mind,” she said to People. “It’s not just about trying to look good physically, it’s important to get oxygen to my brain and feel like my blood is really circulating.”
She likes to switch it up

She believes that fitness can be accomplished while having fun, as well, and doesn’t always have to be a strict regimented routine in the gym. “I love skiing, walking, hiking and especially riding my bike. It makes me feel like a kid again,” she said.
She works with a trainer

Hudson works with personal trainer, Brian Nguyen, to accomplish her strength training goals. “She used to think she couldn’t do it, but now that we’re implementing heavier loads, we’re having fun pushing past the edge of chaos,” Nguyen said. “Kate’s not afraid of heavy weights — the weight needs to be heavy enough where her integrity does fall and she has to regain that control. I don’t think we do anything so special, but mastering the basics allows her to play with speed, a heavier load, and instability.”
