In an AMA in her newsletter, Jennifer Lopez talked about her workout routine. "I think as we grow and mature, we start losing muscle and start aching," she said. "The more strength we can get in our body by lifting is really something that makes me feel strong, able and empowered. That along with stretching and staying limber and mobile are the most important things."
Lopez has collaborated with Pitbull several times. The rapper talked about the importance of stamina in an interview with Eat This, Not That. "Being on tour takes a mental and physical toll when traveling from planes to venues to hotels all across the world," he says. "It's important that my energy is always at maximum capacity so I can give fans the best show every time we play."
Lopez famously texted Leonardo DiCaprio during her Carpool Karaoke segment. The actor talked about his new movie, Killers Of The Flower Moon to Deadline. "We did a lot of work to try to help Marty do what he does best, which is to tell a very human story," says DiCaprio. "To get to the dark side of the human condition but also understand the complexities. Here you had the wealthiest nation, the richest per capita people in the world. You had this melting pot in Oklahoma where freed slaves had created their own economy, and the Osage emerged as this wealthy culture. But you also had during that period the rise of the KKK and white supremacy and this clash of cultures. For some of these white settlers, it was like a gold rush to take advantage of people of color."
Lopez was a judge on American Idol, hosted by Ryan Seacrest. He shared his diet secrets with People. "I'm like con-vegan, I call it conveniently vegan. So I do cheat and eat things every once a while, but I try and mostly stay plant-based and fish-based occasionally."
Lopez's husband, Ben Affleck, talked about how he got in shape to play Batman to Men's Journal. He says that he worked with trainer, Walter Norton Jr., to help him stay in shape. "Getting ready for this role meant working hard, day in and day out with Walter. But it was the kind of work where I felt gains in not only my size, but also my mental and physical health."
Lopez gets along with her husband's ex, actress Jennifer Garner. The two are seen doing activities with their kids together. Garner works with trainer, Beth Nicely, to help her stay in shape. "On a typical day we'll do a solid warm-up and then we'll get the blood flowing and the heart rate up a bit with some cardio dances," Nicely told Shape. "We might do two to four dances and then I'll usually take her through a plyometric box series."
In an interview on the GOOP podcast, Lopez's friend and co-star, Cameron Diaz, shared that she intermittently fasts. "I'm the mother of a two-year-old, so we're both having a little of this and a little of that, and do I need to be snacking as much as she is all day? Doing a little reset kind of brings you back. It helps you be more present at the moment, staying aware of what you're saying and what you're doing."
Lopez and Leah Remini have been friends for years. In an Instagram post at the tail-end of the pandemic, Remini revealed how she's approaching things. She captioned the post, "I got to celebrate this weekend for my birthday. It was a night filled with family, friends, friends that are family and lots of Love & Laughter. And as we all prepare for our lives to open up again, let us all be reminded to take nothing for granted. Dance, eat the cake, take the chance, forgive & reconnect! More pics to come."
Lopez and Keith Urban were judges on American Idol together. In a 2010 interview with Men's Health, Urban talked about his approach to taking care of his voice. "I had to start thinking like an athlete and not a musician. The vocal cords are a muscle, and you have to stretch your muscles and drink lots of water and take care of them. Your body just shifts, and you gotta go with it."
Harry Connick Jr.
Lopez's fellow American Idol judge, Harry Connick Jr., shared his diet and workout secrets with The Telegraph. "I work out for 30 minutes every day at home in Connecticut; sometimes I do kettlebells. I don't like to eat before noon – I'm an intermittent faster, otherwise I really go to extremes. I can eat a whole pizza or eight doughnuts, it's like I don't have an off switch. I don't drink at all, either."
