Ashley Roberts In Workout Gear Shares "Full Body Blast" Routine

“Health is wealth.”

The Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts is a workout fanatic—if she's not active every day, she's not content, and luckily for us she loves sharing her routines on social media. Roberts, 42, posted a video of herself wearing black leggings and a sports bra, doing a complete workout using weights and resistance equipment at the gym. "Give thanks. Health is wealth," reads the text over her video. "This is a @lewisprosser spesh 💪🏼💥 Try it out and lets us know how you get on @bxrlondon." Here's how the dancer trains, works out, and lives her best life.

1

Movement Every Day

For Roberts, being active every day is a non-negotiable. "For me, I enjoy working out for my physical health but to be honest it's more for my mental health, it just makes me feel better and it gets the endorphins going," she told Express. "I like to work out and I like to train. That was always a part of my upbringing because my mom was really into fitness."

2

Weight Training and Dancing

Roberts loves mixing up her workouts. "Even if there is a day where I am not working out hard, I try to get outside and just go for a walk and be in nature. It is a part of my life and I enjoy it and it makes me feel good. I love spin, I love yoga, I love boxing, weight training, dancing," she told Express. "And oh my god I'm obsessed right now with this class at the XR; it's the best cardio and the music! They have the best playlist and if you close your eyes, it's like you're in Mykonos or something."

Backup Dancer

Roberts joined The Pussycat Dolls when she was just 19. "My first ever job was as a back-up dancer for Aaron Carter, Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys' brother," she told The American. "I was like 'Oh my God I'm getting paid to do this thing that I like to do, this is cool'. Then a really good friend of mine told me 'There's this thing called Pussycat Dolls and it's cool, all these really awesome female dancers' and he said I should audition. Robin Antin, who started the Dolls, was having an audition and I went in."

Yoga and Meditation

Roberts was ready for change after leaving The Pussycat Dolls. "I sat down and I was like 'That was a crazy whirlwind!' Then I started seeking out life tools," she told The American. "I started doing yoga and learning meditation, I went and saw a guru, Amma and did some workshops with her, to touch base with myself and get reconnected with myself. And then I started doing stuff in the entertainment industry, but outside of the music industry. I started doing comedy, acting classes, and I did a few drama classes. Different stuff to exercise the creative, artistic muscle but in a different kind of way, which was fun."

Visualization Techniques

Roberts has certain techniques she uses to feel good during the day. "I like to visualize a purple bubble around me, as my shield," she told Women's Health. "As soon as I wake up, I put on my shield so that my energy stays with me and I'm protected from all the other stuff that may happen throughout the day…. You should feel less drained by the end of the day."
