Clara Fernandez is getting her sweat on with her trainer. In a new social media post, the gorgeous pole vaulter shows off her strength and stamina – and also amazing abs in a two-piece workout look – while working out at the gym. She shared the photo via her Instagram Stories. How does the athlete approach health and fitness? Celebwell has the details on everything you need to know about her workout routine.

She Does Track and Field Training

Fernández's track and field training is hardcore and involves a lot of sprinting and jumping. Pole vaulting is a form of cardio because you need to run fast before launching yourself into the air. "Even if you're unlikely to start flinging your body to amazing heights anytime soon, there's plenty to learn from watching Olympic pole-vaulters. Dr. Jones suggests watching the incredible core and upper body strength of vaulters, as well as their unique running style and power," says Adventist Health.

She Weight and Strength Trains

Weight and strength training is also part of Fernández's routine. She has a tab dedicated to exercise on her Instagram, sharing her workouts. They include deadlifting (heavy, heavy weights) and squatting with a barbell.

She Runs

Clara is a runner. You might find her running on the track, pounding the pavement, or on a treadmill. The cardio workout helps her burn calories and trains her for competition. According to the Mayo Clinic, running is great for cardiovascular health, muscle building, and weight loss. "For every mile run, the average person will burn approximately 100 calories," they say.

She Surfs

Clara is a surfer girl. "Up north," she captioned a recent snap of herself getting ready to ride the waves with a surfboard in hand. According to the Australian government's Better Health, surfing provides many health benefits including cardiovascular fitness from paddling, shoulder and back strength, which also strengthens from the paddling, and leg and core strength. "Once you're standing up on the board, strong legs and a strong core will keep you up," they say.

She Eats Acai Bowls

In the clip, Clara reveals one of her go-to healthy breakfast meals: An acai bowl with whey protein, strawberries, blueberries, walnuts, and coconut flakes.

Stability Ball Planks

In the Instagram Stories clip, Clara proves that she has a strong core by planking on a stability ball. Planking, which gets its name from the position you need to be in – holding your body straight like a plank of wood – offers lots of benefits. It strengthens your core, improves posture, helps prevent injuries, and may even help boost mental health, says The Cleveland Clinic
