The Real Housewives of Atlanta Cynthia Bailey is kickstarting 2025 with her traditional New Year’s dance. Bailey, 57, shared a video of herself wearing a black sweater, leggings, and orange sneakers, dancing with her trainer. “We are back!!!💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 Let’s go 2025!!! The journey begins! Great day 1 of the year workout with my trainer/hypewoman @teegymjunkie @litfitnutrition & the struggle was real. And as usual we did a happy dance after. She taught it to me in 5 minutes! How did I do?😜 #newyearbetterme #godswill #losing50 #focused #2025,” she captioned the upbeat post. Bailey is ready to hit the ground running with her health and fitness goals—here’s how she does it.

Start Now
Bailey emphasizes how important maintenance is for fitness and wellness. “Beauty is looking and feeling good on the inside and not just on the outside,” she told New You. “There is an inner glow that comes from peace and happiness. But I would say something physical that you can do for yourself is maintenance. I’m a woman of a certain age, so I suggest not waiting until you reach 55, like, I am to start taking care of yourself.
Ready To Get Fit
Bailey is partnering with WeightWatchers to lose 50 pounds in the New Year, she says via an Instagram post. “I have a confession to make: I’ve been deleting comments about my weight. The truth is, I’ve put on more pounds than I care to admit, and I’m finally ready to do something about it. As a former model, I’ve mastered tricks to conceal my weight—posing and positioning, wearing all black, and tying a jacket around my waist to create the illusion of a waistline. Plus, like many celebrities & most people on social media, using apps to pull in my waistline & stomach. Well, guess what? My tricks are no longer working & ya’ll have been letting me know in the comments!”
Prioritizing Health

Bailey is focused not just on her appearance but on her health. “When you get older, you have to prioritize your health more than when you’re younger, and at this age, it’s not an option,” she told New You. “No matter what the shell looks like on the outside, you have to make sure everything is working properly on the inside, and you have to keep tuning it up. I’m an outdoors person, and I drink a lot of smoothies. I gained some weight during the pandemic, and as you get older, it’s so hard to get the weight off because your metabolism slows down.”
Support For Cynthia
Bailey is getting lots of support from friends and fans. "You know I’ll be here as your biggest cheerleader !!! I love you girl!! You got this!! 🙌🙌🙌” says The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Crystal Kung Minkoff. “Welcome to the WeightWatchers Family, @cynthiabailey!! Your openness and vulnerability is so inspiring 💙🫶 Can’t WAIT for 2025 👏💪,” the company commented.
Proud Role Model
Bailey is proud of how far she has come in her career. “I am a very humble person, and I came from very humble beginnings – a small town in Alabama,” she told New You. “But I was always a dreamer and always had ambition; if I could have told my ten-year-old self now that I would be who I am today, I would have been, like, ‘Oh my God, I’m not ready.’ I kept walking toward my purpose, dreaming, and going for it. I have to write a book to properly document my life and journey because it has been incredible.”
