Elle Macpherson is an extremely successful model. She earned the nickname “The Body” throughout her career, since she did a lot of swimsuit modeling. Macpherson appeared on the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover five times. Macpherson recently shared a swimsuit photo on her Instagram story. Her impressive figure was on display. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Elle Macpherson stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Sought Help From A Dermatologist

Macpherson shared her skincare secrets with Get The Gloss. She says that she sought help from a dermatologist. “In 2014, I was burned out, irritable and exhausted. I first visited nutritionist Dr. Simone Laubscher PhD’s London clinic and I remember telling her about my skin being particularly dry, dull and prone to rashes and hives. She prescribed me 30 days of her anti-inflammatory nutritional greens powder. After just a few weeks, I was feeling better, lighter and brighter. The quality of my skin improved noticeably and people’s comments confirmed it.”

2. She Eats An Anti-Inflammatory Diet

Flat,Lay,Composition,With,Bottles,Of,Delicious,Juices,And,FreshShutterstock

Macpherson makes sure to eat a healthy diet. “At the same time, I’ve learned that the best facial is what you put inside your body, which is why I preference an anti-inflammatory approach to diet and in turn, skincare,” she told Get The Gloss. “It improves skin texture and appearance, as Dr Barbara Sturm, a brilliant doctor and master of skin care who I have known for over 15 years, often shares. This means I eat organic, whole foods and stick to plant-based meals. If my skin needs a boost for an upcoming shoot or event, I’ll start juicing four times daily using my friend Dr Sara Siso’s protocol — lots of turmeric, ginger, green leafy vegetables, cucumber — and my super greens. I’ll also add our collagen powder to support my skin specifically.”

3. She Stays Hydrated

Macpherson tells Get The Gloss that she drinks a lot of water. “Another skin essential for me is hydration. I drink three litres of water every day and start each morning with warm water, lemon and ginger, and two capsules of The Skin Elixir with water. I leave the jar of skin caps next to my toothbrush to remind me to take them. I take two teaspoons of The Super Elixir™️ greens in water in the morning too.”

4. She Does Outdoor Activities

One thing Macpherson does to stay in shape is outdoor activities. She tells Get The Gloss that this also helps her skin. “We are an active family, so connection to nature and the fresh air tends to have a positive effect on our skin in terms of tone, colour and texture. Nothing beats a rosy cheek from being outdoors with my boys; hiking, skiing, biking or swimming.”

5. She Limits Sugar

E.MacElle Macpherson/Instagram

Macpherson shared some of her wellness secrets with Harper’s Bazaar. She says that she has figured out a way to limit her sugar intake. “Since I’ve been taking the Super Elixir I don’t crave sugar anymore and so when I have cheap sugar now I just don’t like the taste. Sugar is addictive but breaking that addiction only takes about three days. Do a week of taking the Super Elixir greens and then try to give up sugar, it’s usually pretty successful.”

1. She’s On The Alkaline Diet

elle-macpherson-1Elle MacPherson/Instagram

Macpherson is on the Alkaline Diet, which involves monitoring your body’s pH, and seeing what food affects it. She told Vogue that this diet has helped her body out a lot, including her skin. “What I’d always thought were sunspots – actually, they were sugar spots - started to clear, and my skin looked tighter, dewier, plumper,” she said. “I started to lose weight, probably because my sugar cravings had subsided. My digestion improved. I felt more emotionally balanced.”

2. She Switched Her Workout Routine

In goop Health Summit New York 2019Bryan Bedder/Getty Images

At the 2019 Business Chicks Speaking Tour in Sydney, Macpherson spoke about her approach to fitness, and how it changed throughout her career. She said, “When I was younger, wellness was more like fitness. Looks were important – especially in my job – but I don’t think I truly understood what it meant to balance inner and outer beauty.” Macpherson said that she realized that she had to switch up her workouts and how she approached fitness. “I quickly realized that I was doing the same things over and over, unconsciously, and expecting different results.”

3. She Loves Walking In The Ocean

Macpherson doesn’t just love going to the beach for the views and the sunshine, she also loves it for the exercise. Macpherson said on the Business Chicks tour that she loves to workout at the beach, specifically walking in the ocean. “It tones the legs and the waist, it’s great for minerals, and if you have any water retention, it’s a great diuretic,” she said. “I walk in about thigh-deep or knee-deep water for 40 minutes to an hour.”

4. She Dehydrates Her Food

Macpherson revealed to Getthegloss.com that she has a unique way of preparing her food. “I have invested in a dehydrator. Cooking food can strip it of its nutrients. I like the idea that preparing my meals at a lower drying temperature, means they taste great but still have their proper nutritional value.”

5. She Eats Gut-Friendly Food

Macpherson told Getthegloss.com that she eats a lot of gut-friendly food, and revealed some of her favorite options to the website. “I have replaced red meat with fresh line-caught fish and ramped-up my daily vegetable quota (especially greens). I generally have my greens with whatever I eat at lunch, which is often a salad with a base of pulses, lentils or quinoa. I load it up with leafy greens and other vegetables, especially kale, spinach, sprouts and rocket.”

6. She Gets Outside

Macpherson is a big fan of going outside and getting fresh air. She tells Nowtolove.com, “If I'm on the road, I'll bring my running shoes along and go for a jog or a walk – I love to explore my new surroundings and soak up the outdoors.”

Wellness is Elle’s priority year-round. “I believe in maintenance, I’m not a big binge and purge person,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “I think it’s really important to maintain wellness year-round. Not because it looks good but it actually feels good – which is really important when you’re running a business and you’ve got kids and a full life. It’s easy – I just make good choices and I enjoy the choices that I make.”

2. She Follows an Alkaline, Plant-Based Diet

Vegetables,Ingredients,Composition,Summer,Plant,Based,Food,Vegan,,Alkaline,DietShutterstock

Elle follows an alkaline diet, rich in veggies. “I really enjoy a plant-based diet, I love vegetables,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “If I’m really in my groove, I love a raw, plant-based diet,” she added to New Beauty. “That’s how I feel best. I eat grains, nuts, seeds, beans, vegetables, almond milk, hemp milk, chia seeds. I make my own granola in a dehydrator. Avocado, salads, juicing—you know, beautiful, whole, natural foods. As far as animal products are concerned, I’ll have a poached egg every now and then, some Parmesan cheese and goat cheese, but they’re not staples of my diet.”

3. She Gives Up Wheat and Sugar for Summer

Prior to swimsuit season, Elle makes dietary sacrifices. “Coming up for summer what I try to cut out is wheat and sugar. If you love bread and butter, that would be what I’d give up for the summer. For me it’s a ‘fine tune’ more than anything else,” she told Harper’s Bazaar.

4. She Starts the Day with Hot Water and Lemon

Elle is one of the many stars who get the day started with a lemon water elixir. “The first thing I have is hot water and lemon when I wake up, then my Super Elixir greens and a matcha tea. Sometimes I have cap-full of apple cider vinegar in water if I’m feeling like I’m inflamed. I drink three litres of water a day and my Sleep Welle Tea at night,” she told Harper’s Bazaar.

5. She Curbed Her Craving for Sugar with Supplements

Elle maintains that one of her supplements keeps her sugar cravings away. “Since I’ve been taking the Super Elixir I don’t crave sugar anymore and so when I have cheap sugar now I just don’t like the taste. Sugar is addictive but breaking that addiction only takes about three days. Do a week of taking the Super Elixir greens and then try to give up sugar, it’s usually pretty successful, she told Harper’s Bazaar.

6. She Stays Active Outdoors

Elle prefers outdoor activities to sweating away in a gym. “I do sports like water skiing, running, cycling, swimming laps, snow skiing if it’s winter, walking the dogs – I just love to be outdoors,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “If I’m lucky enough to be by the sea, I think walking in seawater is one of the best things I can do for my body. It tones the legs and the waist, it’s great for minerals, and if you have any water retention, it’s a great diuretic. I walk in about thigh-deep or knee-deep water for 40 minutes to an hour,” she added to New Beauty.

1. She Refuses to Let Her Age Define Her

The Fashion Awards 2021 - VIP ArrivalsDave Benett/Getty Images)

Demi is turning 60 in November, but refuses to let her age define her. "It's changing this idea that women become less desirable as we get older," she told People about why she opted to design a swimwear collection with Andie, encouraging older women to wear bikinis and other sexy swimsuits. "We don't want to look matronly or not feel sexy." She added: "Not being defined by a number and instead being defined by my experience. You hit 59 and you're already thinking, 'Well, I'm going to be 60.' It feels very liberating. When I think of my grandmother at 60, she in a way seemed to be already resigned to being old. But I feel, in so many ways, more alive and present than ever."

2. She Used to Obsess About Her Weight

In her 2019 autobiography, Inside Out, Demi revealed that she used to have an unhealthy relationship with diet and exercise. "I couldn't stop exercising…I would be on display again, and all I could think about was my body, my body, my body…I doubled down on my already over-the-top exercise routine. I cut out carbs, I ran and I biked and I worked out on every machine imaginable," she wrote. However, after G.I. Jane, she shifted her priorirites. "I had reached my limit," she said. 'When I got home to Idaho, I had an epiphany in the shower one day: I just need to be my natural size."

3. She Exercises to Stay Fit and Tone

Demi still works out but focuses on toning her body instead of losing weight, per her trainer, Gregory Joujon-Roche. He told OneBodyOneLife.com, that his client does ab and bicep curls to tone certain areas. "She wants to preserve her arms, stomach, lower body," he revealed.

4. She Works Out Using The Mirror

Moore was one of the first celebrities to endorse the at-home fitness gadget, The Mirror. She has shared videos of herself getting in a workout class via the tool. In this Instagram video, Moore is seen doing planks, plie squats, and stretches.

5. She Strives for Self-Acceptance

Demi focuses on having a healthy relationship with her body, especially as she ages. "I have had a love-hate relationship with my body," she told Harper's Bazaar. "I sit today in a place of greater acceptance of my body. And that includes not just my weight, but all of the things that come with your changing body."

I also love the MAC wipes. I think they were the first to come out with those makeup remover wipes, and I've never had problems with breaking out with them. And there's just enough of a floral scent that it's pleasant.”

Kristin Cavallari is a reality TV and fashion icon. Since she debuted on Laguna Beach, people have clamoured for her fashion and beauty secrets. Cavallari recently shared her eye makeup secrets on Instagram, after several people asked for them. She captioned the post, “This is for the girlies in my DMs asking about this eye every time I do it. Sorry the lighting is awful. I also don’t know why the audio isn’t in sync for half of it 🫣 but here ya go 💗”

She's Less Strict With Her Diet

Kristin shares a Zucchini Almond Butter Blondies recipe

Kristin Cavallari/Instagram

Cavallari has written several cookbooks, and they have changed as her diet has changed. While promoting her book, Truly Simple with EatingWell, she revealed that her diet is less strict. “I've gotten to a point in my life where not everything has to be so perfect anymore,” Cavallari said. “I used to be so strict about what I was putting in my body. I'm still very healthy and very conscious of it, but I've gotten a little bit more lax. True Roots and True Comfort had nothing ‘white’ in them: no white flour, no white sugar, no white salt. But in Truly Simple, I bend a little bit in a few of the recipes, which really reflects where I am in my life and my new way of eating. Everything is a little bit more relaxed around here now.’

She Loves Cauliflower

Cavallari tells EatingWell that she loves making foods with cauliflower. “I love cauliflower because I think it's very versatile, and there's actually a Sweet Harissa Cauliflower recipe in Truly Simple that's my absolute favorite cauliflower recipe on the planet. If you've ever been to True Food Kitchen, their cauliflower was the inspiration behind it. There's this sweet harissa dressing that's on it, and there's little chopped-up dates in it, so it has that nice balance between sweet and savory. It's the absolute best.”

She Loves Salad

Krisitn Cavallari/Instagram

Cavallari likes to make salads. She shared one of her favorite recipes with EatingWell. “This salad has a few of my favorite things: salmon (which has omega-3s and is so, so good for you), bacon (no explanation needed), avocado (healthy fats), and spicy tomatillo ranch dressing (just yum). Together, they create culinary heaven. If you aren't familiar with tomatillos, they're similar to tomatoes but are slightly less sweet and are perfect when drenched in ranch.”

She Works With A Trainer

Cavallari tells Us Weekly that a lot of her gym sessions are with her personal trainer. “He kicks my ass,” she says. “He pushes me really hard. He has me actually lifting really heavy weight, the heaviest weight I’ve ever lifted in my entire life. I feel the best I ever have. I feel like I’m the strongest I’ve ever been.”

She Shared Her Eye Makeup Trick

Cavallari shared some of her wellness secrets in an interview with Us Weekly. She says that consistency is one of her biggest priorities. “My goal is sort of, right now, just to maintain the muscle that I have,” she says. “I’m really petite. I have no hips. I’m just small. And so if I don’t work out for like a week or two, I feel like all my muscle goes away. So it is about consistency for me.”

Rebeca Andrade is an Olympic gymnast. She is the most decorated Olympic athlete from Brazil, having won two gold medals, three silvers, and a bronze. Andrade recently shared some highlights of her native Brazil on Instagram. In some of them, she posed in a swimsuit while wading. Andrade captioned the post, “SC-&-RS🏕️🌅❤️ Being free is a paradox. It's committing to the life you want, without running away from the work that it entails. It's building freedom every day, with conscious choices and, mainly, with the acceptance that freedom is not the absence of limits, but the autonomy to know which ones are worth it and which ones are not. Being free is being willing to carry the weight of your own life and still find it funny.”

She Swims

In her Instagram post, Andrade is seen swimming. The Cleveland Clinic says that swimming has a lot of benefits. “Swimming takes much less of a toll on your body than, say, running or riding a bike. That’s because exercising in water lessens the impact of your body weight on your joints.”

She Does Gymnastics

Gymnastics is the main way Andrade stays in shape. British Gymnastics states that the sport has a lot of benefits. “When you take part in gymnastics, or any sport for that matter, your body releases chemicals called endorphins. These also help to trigger a positive feeling in the body which can have a positive impact on your happiness and mental wellbeing. This can help to combat feelings of anxiety and depression.”

She Prioritizes Safety

Andrade talked about her training approach in an interview with the Olympics website. She says that she and her coach prioritize her safety, and that she will skip floor sessions if she isn’t able to do it. "I talk a lot with my coach and we trust in each other. We always try to be really safe, and do floor in the correct moments. He believes in me. I'm never going to lie to not do it. So, when I really tell him that I can't do it, it's because I cannot and he always respects that.”

She Sets Goals

In her Olympics website interview, Andrade talked about her commitment and goal setting. Specifically, she talked about her goal to make the Olympic team. “The other [goal], which is the main one, is for us to qualify as a team,” Andrade said. “I think it will be very important for me, for my team, and the focus is on that, whatever happens there, the result is a consequence of our work, of our commitment. But I really want to be there with my team and be happy and healthy.”

She Cooks

Andrade makes sure to eat healthy. She also likes to cook a lot of her own meals. She shared some of her favorite things to make in an interview with NPR. “There was one that was with potatoes and cheese, chicken. There’s cake. There’s cookies. A lot of things.”

As you can see from the previous Instagram post, Glanville has pet dogs. And according to Harvard Health, this can be beneficial. “A growing body of solid research shows that owning a dog can: provide companionship, help you be more active, make kids calmer, more secure, and more responsible, improve the lives of older individuals, help you be calmer, more mindful, and more present in your life, make you more social and less isolated, ease stress.”

Glanville revealed to Us Weekly that she works with a breath coach to help with her mental health. “I’m still doing cosmetic stuff, but at the same time trying to fix myself. I eat better and breathe and actually exercise. I’m getting there. I just started with this journey, but I can actually do things. My body can do things now that I couldn’t do five years ago.”

She Uses CellSound

Glanville revealed to People that she used the CellSound treatment on her stomach. "I mean, to be honest, I haven't worn a crop top in years, and I literally feel comfortable going out in a crop top, which is so bizarre," she says. "Not that I feel like everyone should do that, but I can go work out with a crop top on and not feel like I have my mommy stomach and I shouldn't sit down. So it's definitely empowered me in that aspect."
