Content creator and model, Emily Elizabeth, keeps her body in shape while aiming to inspire others (especially her 2.7 million followers on Instagram) to do the same, starting their mental and physical health journey. Snapping a picture, looking confident and fierce, she captioned it “selfie moment 💘,” on Instagram. Here’s how Emily focuses on her health and wellness.
1. She drinks coconut water
She drinks fresh coconut water to stay hydrated and feeling great. “Fresh coconut >>>,” she said on Instagram. According to the Cleveland Clinic, “while comparable to sports drinks, which can be loaded with added sugars and flavorings, coconut water is low in calories and carbs. Those electrolytes of potassium, sodium and magnesium play a major role in coconut water’s appeal.”
2. She loves animals
Spending time with animals can have a significant impact on your mental health. “Best. day. ever,” she said on Instagram, on a slideshow of photos and videos of her at Jungle Island in Florida, playing with and feeding capybaras. According to News in Health, “interacting with animals has been shown to decrease levels of cortisol (a stress-related hormone) and lower blood pressure. Other studies have found that animals can reduce loneliness, increase feelings of social support, and boost your mood.”
3. She swims
She enjoys swimming and spending time in the water. “Grabbing for a towel 💧,” she said on Instagram on a photo of her getting out of the pool. She flocks towards those turquoise waters, like in this photo captioned “bliss,” on Instagram of her swimming with the most incredible view in Bora Bora.
4. She treats herself
Sometimes you just need to feed the nostalgia and feel like a child again, eating a treat in the most magical place. “Cotton candy & Disneyland <3,” she said on Instagram. According to Northwestern Medicine, “the first rule of integrating cheat days into your diet? Don’t think of them as cheating, more so a meal that you earned and should enjoy – without the guilt. By following this advice on how to incorporate cheat days into your diet, you’ll come to think of them less as cheating, and more as part of a healthy and balanced lifestyle.”
5. She's confident
She’s fierce, strong, and confident, which shines through in photos, like this one on Instagram. “Monday mood,” she said on Instagram. According to Psychology Today, “the more confident you become, the more you’ll be able to calm the voice inside you that says, “I can’t do it.” You’ll be able to unhook from your thoughts and take action in line with your values.”
