Martial Art

After being casted in Shang-Chi, Fala flew directly from her honeymoon to Sydney, Australia, and began rigorous physical training. One of the workouts she had to master was martial arts, she told Elle.

Pilates

Pilates were also part of Fala's training for Shang-Chi. Why is pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic there are lots of benefits to the workout, as it "strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health. It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Fala also revealed to Elle that she did weight training to prepare for the career-changing role. Physical activity is anything that gets your body moving. Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle-strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.

Reading

Fala also loves to read. One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years compared with people who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

Snorkeling

In her featured post, Fala snorkels. "Beautiful day of snorkeling, my posture though," she captioned the photo of herself in her swimsuit from the Great Barrier Reef. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.
