She Wants To Be A Role Model
DePalma wants to be a role model for others. She talked about this in an interview with Shoutout Arizona. “I want to show others, especially young women, that they can do anything they set their minds to. I have worked extremely hard to get to where I am, I have had success and struggles. I have overcome hard times in my life. I believe talking about my hard times opens up the eyes of others showing them they are not the only ones. Golf is such an amazing game and has so many life lessons. I want to remind others that being able to overcome your struggles makes you so much stronger. No one is perfect and be proud of who you are. Don’t ever forget where you came from. Remember everyone is different and that is okay, BE YOU!”
She Has Support
DePalma has a lot of support in her life. She tells Shoutout Arizona that this is one of the reasons for her success. “Being a professional golfer is not what everyone thinks it is. Yes I get to play amazing courses, be outside all day, travel and meet incredible people but it is not easy. Being a professional athlete, there is a lot of blood, sweat and tears that goes on behind the scenes. Being on the road gets lonely, when you aren’t playing well it gets frustrating. If it weren’t for my support group I wouldn’t be where I am today. I thank them for always having my back when I do have my weak moments. I have learned so many lessons from the game of golf, patience, integrity, focus, problem solving, respect, communication and learning to aspect the uncontrollable.”
She's Positive
DePalma talked about her goals in this post on her website. She says that she wants to work on having a positive mindset. “Finding the positives on and off the course! Focusing on the controllable not the uncontrollable. Working on training my brain how to think differently, in a more effective way to benefit myself on and off the golf course. My mental coach Jeff and I woke up with confidence, focus and consistency.”
She Works On Her Swing
In the same post on her website, DePalma revealed that she is working on her golf swing. “Working on my tempo and keeping my right foot down longer. I will continue to work on my skills as well as my game with my swing coach Mike Wilson. He then helps imply my sessions with my mental coach to the course and playing. There is always room to improve.”
She Does A Variety Of Workouts
DePalma does a lot of different things to keep herself in shape. She shared her favorite exercises in her post on her website. “I will be continuing to workout with a trainer, which consists of a 45-minute circuit. It implies cardio, weight training and flexibility. I am able to get a full body workout that is challenging to help better my golf and health. My goal is to stay fit and continue to get stronger.”
