Heather Graham is 51, and still looks the same as she has for decades. She Tries to Avoid Complex Carbohydrates
Heather tries to avoid complex carbs. "I've become one of those annoying people who's like, 'I'm not gonna eat white flour and I'm not gonna eat sugar.' I do eat sugar sometimes, but as a broad rule, I try to just eat no sugar basically, and I have to say I feel a lot better. And I will sometimes eat things with white flour, but I try to avoid white flour," she told Refinery29.
She Does a Lot of Yoga
Heather is a longtime yogi, revealing to Refinery29 that she does yoga three times a week, and sometimes for multiple hours per day. "I'm obsessed with yoga. For fun, I would go on a yoga retreat and do four hours of yoga a day," she explained. "Grateful to be in a beach doing yoga with @ninabergman," she captioned a recent Instagram post, with her friend Bergman, an actress, singer, songwriter and model.
She Also Like Pilates
Graham added to Refinery29 that she is a fan of pilates, and also gets some of her workouts in at night. "I also like going out dancing," she said. "In numerous studies including reviews, a positive effect of Pilates such as reducing pain and improving functional outcomes was observed at short term," according to one study. Pilates also increase your core strength and function, according to another study.
She Gets Lots of Sleep
Graham's guilty pleasure? "I love sleeping," she admitted to The Guardian. "When I tell people how much I sleep sometimes, they are horrified. I basically sleep between nine and 12 hours a night." A healthy medium is 7 to 9 hours of sleep. "Not getting enough sleep is linked with many chronic diseases and conditions—such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and depression—that threaten our nation's health," says the CDC.
She Doesn't Drink Alcohol
Graham revealed to The Independent that she doesn't drink alcohol. "Recently, I've stopped drinking," she said. "I'm kind of goofy enough to have fun without drinking. So by the time everyone gets relaxed, I'm like, 'OK, I was already there two hours ago.'"
