Jason Momoa is no stranger to flexing his muscles in action-packed flicks. He starred as Khal Drogo in hit HBO series Game Of Thrones and took on the iconic role of Aquaman in the DC Universe films. The actor has also appeared in Dune and Fast X and will be channeling Garrett "The Garbage Man" Garrison in the upcoming Minecraft Movie, alongside Jack Black and Jennifer Coolidge.

It's no secret Jason is known for his enviable, muscle-packed physique. These are just some of the workouts he does to stay in top shape.

He Trains With Kettlebells for "Maintenance"

Naturally, the celeb lifts weights to maintain and pack on serious muscle. One productive tool that's essential for his "maintenance workouts?" The kettlebell.

Jason shared with GQ, "I use a couple of different kettlebells—I swing 'em and do some squats and some deadlifts. I keep an 88-pound and a 106-pound kettlebell around, and they're easy to use.

He Boxes

Jason doesn't sleep on cardio. In fact, boxing is one way he stays fit.

"I don't get to box as much as I would like to, because we're so busy, but I love when I get to throw some hands and my kids love to box, too," Jason told Men's Journal. "My daughter is such a hammer. I'm not going to have to worry about her at all."

He Works His Legs

Aquaman told GQ that training his legs and preserving lower-body strength is very important to him.

He shared, "I am maintaining my legs, which I never used to do because I love climbing, and I'm already 230 to 240 pounds without adding weight onto my legs. When I lift for my legs, I go up to 250 to 260 pounds, so I'm kind of f***ed, and am not able to climb anymore, but I feel great. When I'm doing my legs, my whole body feels better, and it just kind of maintains everything."

He Prioritizes Rest and Recovery

Making time for rest and recovery is just as important as the actual training regimen itself. This is a principle Jason knows well.

"I've also realized that I get bigger after my workouts the more I rest," he told Men's Journal. "It's not about pounding myself with workouts over and over again. If I take two days off, I come back stronger."

He Eats Healthy Foods

The actor makes sure to consume healthy meals. He broke down his diet to GQ.

"I have a chef who travels with me for dinner, but I consistently love the same stuff," he shared. "I love Hawaiian food, so I'll have nice chicken and rice, mac salad, poi, and salad. I love a simple salad. I like radishes and tomatoes; then there's just the greens and olive oil. I'll do protein; I'll always have chicken."

The actor also revealed he cut back on red meat. He added, "I love seafood, like uni and stuff like that. I should eat way more vegetables than I do, but we're working on that. Baby steps!"
