She Lives In The Moment

Garner is all about focusing on where she is now, rather than looking back. "Do I wish I could go back and, do the last 20 years with everything I know now, of course, but also not really," she tells Shape. "Because where I am now is great, and I want to just really enjoy it and not waste any time that I have on this planet wishing for something else."

She Uses Retinol

Garner shared some of her favorite skincare products with Shape. She says that she likes to use products with retinol, and uses a lot of things from Neutrogena. "I love the Retinol Pro+ Power Serum," she says. "This bad boy is no joke. I'll start with serum and sometimes while I have the serum on, that's when I'll floss and brush to give it a minute to absorb."

She's Consistent With Workouts

Garner tells Shape that she makes sure to workout on a consistent basis. "I do think that being consistent with workouts is a big part of having healthy skin," says Garner. "You've got to keep your blood moving…Man, there's no time that I feel more like myself, more like I look pretty…The time I'm going to feel absolutely my best is right after a hard workout and a shower because my skin has a lot of vibrancy."

She Isn't Hard On Herself

Garner makes sure to have confidence in herself. She tells TODAY  that she makes sure to not be too hard on herself. "When you start getting super critical of yourself, turn around, pivot in that spot and go do something nice for someone else. Or go work out, or just take that and make it active instead of letting it just fester in you."

She Uses Sunscreen

Garner shared some of her skincare secrets with Prevention. She says that one of the best advice she had received was to protect her skin from the sun."Nothing looks better in your 50s than sunscreen in your 20s," she says. "It is the truest thing ever spoken. I did use sunscreen early on and I stayed out of the sun when I was young because I was always in the theater."

She Doesn't Diet

Garner shared some of her diet secrets in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. She says that she no longer likes to restrict herself when it comes to food. "I dieted for so long in the middle of doing Alias and being a superhero, that there's something in me that can't do anything that extreme."

She Loves Salads

Garner tells Entertainment Tonight that she makes sure to eat a lot of veggies. "I eat a lot, a lot of salads. That's the way that I get my veggies. I eat lots of leafy greens, dark greens, with rice too because I want it to be a meal. I just have a big bag of greens… I keep it in a Ziploc bag and I just pull out handfuls of it for lunch every day."
