She Doesn't Diet
Lawrence has been open about her love of junk food since the beginning of her career. She says that she doesn't like to put herself on a strict diet or cut things out. "I don't like when people say, 'I only do this or eat this,'" Lawrence tells Vogue. "Because I eat. I'm not very strict with my diet: If I want a piece of pizza, I eat a piece of pizza."
She's All About Body Positivity
Lawrence is all about body positivity. She opened up about this in an interview with Harper's Bazaar. "I think we've gotten so used to underweight that when you are a normal weight, it's like, 'Oh, my God, she's curvy.' Which is crazy. The bare minimum, just for me, would be to up the ante."
She Speaks Out
Lawrence isn't afraid to voice her opinions. She notably wrote an essay in Lena Dunham's Lenny newsletter, which received a lot of opinions. However, Lawrence says that she has started to learn to not focus on the negative. "I had no idea it was going to blow up like that," she tells Harper's Bazaar. "And I obviously only absorbed the negative. I didn't pay any attention to the positive feedback. My parents get really upset. They do not like me speaking out about anything political because it's hard to see your kid take criticism. But, really, people who criticized it are people who think women should not be paid the same as men. So I don't really care what those people think."
She's A Feminist
Lawrence is a proud feminist, and she tells Harper's Bazaar that she doesn't want people to be afraid of calling themselves one. "I don't know why that word is so scary to people," she says. "It shouldn't be, because it just means equality. If we are moving forward in a society, you are feeling stronger as a woman, and you want to be taken more seriously. You don't have to take away the wonderful traits that come with being a woman: We are sensitive. We are pleasers. We're empathetic. All those things that can keep you from asking for what you want or making mistakes."
She Loves Pilates
Lawrence opened up about her workout routine to Harper's Bazaar. "I do Pilates every day," she says. "I eat, but I work out a lot more than a normal person." Pilates has a lot of health benefits. Better Health states, "Pilates can be an aerobic and non-aerobic form of exercise. It requires concentration and focus, because you move your body through precise ranges of motion. It requires concentration in finding a centre point to control your body through movement. Each exercise has a prescribed placement, rhythm and breathing pattern."
She's Motivated
Lawrence tells Vogue that she makes sure to workout regularly. "I do work out more than normal because I have a certain way that I want to look, and a way that I want to fit into my clothes. I get photographed when I'm not asking for it, so there's added pressure to look and feel your best. For me, it's easier to put that extra effort into the gym instead of putting the extra effort into: 'Oh no, I can't eat that.'"
She Doesn't Always Wear Makeup
Lawrence shared some of her skincare secrets in an interview with Harper's Bazaar. She says that she doesn't always wear makeup when she's not working. "If I don't have an event, I normally don't wear makeup. Since I often get it done professionally, I'm probably better off staying away from my face. I have learned nothing from the pros—ha!"
