Jennifer Lopez is giving her followers a glimpse of her grueling rehearsal routine. In a new social media post the icon shows off her fit-at-54 figure – including her flat abs – while getting ready for This Is Me. "From rehearsals ➡️ shoot. #ThisIsMeNow #TheGreatestLoveStoryNeverTold @primevideo," she captioned the Instagram post. How does the star manage to look half her age? Here is everything you need to know about the habits that keep her looking forever young.
Her Diet: She Eats "Whatever she Wants"
According to her husband, Lopez doesn't restrict herself. Ben Affleck opened up about his wife's diet on the April 21 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show. "She's the most gorgeous woman in the world and she looks spectacular," she said. "Let me tell you something that's going to upset you," he said. "Jennifer just eats whatever she wants and whatever she wants; cookies, ice cream, everything."
Her Approach to Fitness: She Workouts Out A Lot
Tracy Anderson, one of J.Lo's trainers, told E! News that Lopez is self-aware when ti comes to her body. "If somebody could graduate summa cum laude of physical literacy, it's her. She knows her body so well and she knows what she needs for the many, many projects she does," she said. "This is something people need to understand, Jennifer is so driven from within and she's such a hard worker. I don't know anyone that has her worth ethic." This means that she knows when enough is enough. "She is very soft and gentle with herself in a really beautiful way that you wouldn't expect. She knows her engine really well. She doesn't over-train if she's got to light up a stage, which is most of the time," added Anderson.
Her Approach to Rest: She Sleeps A Lot
While Lopez is busy, she makes time for rest. "There was a time in my life where I used to sleep 3 to 5 hours a night. I'd be on set all day and in the studio all night and doing junkets and filming videos on the weekends," she told People. "I was in my late 20s and I thought I was invincible." She ended up having a panic attack. "I asked the doctor if I was going crazy. He said, 'No, you're not crazy. You need sleep…get 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night, don't drink caffeine, and make sure you get your workouts in if you're going to do this much work.'"
Her Approach to Mental Health: Therapy and Spirituality
Jennifer is a big proponent of therapy and has "become much more spiritual" since having kids, she told Rolling Stone. She uses daily prayers and affirmations to keep her grounded. Here is one of them: "I am whole; I am good on my own; I love the universe, the universe loves me," she added. "I try to always live from a place of gratitude," she said. "But today, especially, if you ask me what my first thought was, it was, 'Thank you. Thank you, God, for this day. Thank you for my life, what it is.'"
Her Approach to Hydration: Drink a Lot of Water
Jen understands "drinking plenty of water, especially before a workout, can help you push harder and get more out of your exercise routine," she told HELLO! She has also revealed that proper hydration is one of the secrets to her J.LO glow. The Mayo Clinic agrees that drinking plenty of water helps to keep the skin hydrated and looking its best.
