Jordana Brewster, the superstar best known for her roles in the Fast & Furious franchise, is trying some new things this summer. Brewster posted a new video on Instagram of herself balancing on a rotating platform. In it, she wore a teal bathing suit, practicing surfing. Brewster captioned the video, "I'll get it eventually." She Treats Herself To Workout Gear

 

Brewster revealed her secrets for staying motivated to New Beauty. She says that gear helps her want to work out. "If you like the outdoors, don't force yourself to go to the gym. Instead, buy a pedometer and go on a hike. Buy cute gym outfits every once in a while to stay motivated. I love to go to Nike and treat myself to the latest running gear.

She Does Intervals On The Treadmill

When most people think of interval training, most people think of doing different exercises without equipment. However, Brewster tells New Beauty that she does intervals on a treadmill. "I work out five days a week. I like interval training on the treadmill—side shuffles, walking at a fast pace on an incline and running.

She Strength Trains

Brewster also loves to do strength training exercises. She tells New Beauty that she likes to do them with her personal trainer. "I also do strength training three times a week with my trainer Harley Pasternak." "Two or three 20- or 30-minute strength training sessions every week can result in significant health benefits:

  1. Increased muscle mass: Muscle mass naturally decreases with age, but strength training can help reverse the trend.
  2. Stronger bones: Strength training increases bone density and reduces the risk of fractures.
  3. Joint flexibility: Strength training helps joints stay flexible and can reduce the symptoms of arthritis.
  4. Weight control: As you gain muscle, your body begins to burn calories more easily, making it easier to control your weight.
  5. Balance: Strengthening exercises can increase flexibility and balance as people age, reducing falls and injuries," says the American Cancer Society.

She Practices Meditation

Brewster is open about her love of practicing meditation. She loves to do Vedic meditation in particular. She tells New Beauty that this has helped her slow down and improve her mental state. "I've also noticed the benefits and necessity of slowing down and learned Vedic meditation."

She Believes In Balance

For Brewster, wellness means balance. She tells Health that she has a history of obsessing over her body, so balance helps her maintain this. "So it's about checking in and making sure you're living as balanced a life as possible," she said. "It is all about balance and feeling comfortable in your skin."
