She Has a "Balanced" Approach to Diet

"Weight loss and good health all start with the small stuff right? Right! The 3 small changes I made for big results! P.S. Consistency is always key – tell me what are the small changes you made that changed your life," Masaba recently revealed in an Instagram post about how she lost weight. "I introduced balance in my life which is the balance of all the junk food that I like and some really nourishing, nutritious food."

She Exercises Almost Every Day

In an Instagram Q&A session, Masaba reveals that she tries to exercise at least 6 days a week for 45 to 60 minutes. Physical activity is anything that gets your body moving. Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle-strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.

Masaba maintains that books also keep her mentally healthy. "Lastly, I spend first hour of my day just reading, and spending time with nature, looking out of the window, and not looking at my phone." One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years compared with people who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

She Maintains a Healthy Diet and Does Intermittent Fasting

Masaba is a fan of intermittent fasting, eating two large meals a day, snacking on nuts in between. She enjoys home cooked meals which consist of rice, jowar or buckwheat roti, sabzi, a small sweet dish. She avoids dairy, refined sugar and fried foods, and avoids alcohol. "You gotta eat right at least 80 percent of the time. (Maybe Monday to Friday)," she added.

She Doesn't Do Fad Diets

"I don't believe in fad diets (tried & tested) cutting out any food, even a 100% – even dairy which gives me acne instantly. I have dahi once in a while as well. But I probably won't have a glass of milk ever," she said in one of her Instagram videos. "A diet shouldn't be one you can hold only for a short period of time – it should be one you can sustain for life + no workout can fix a bad diet & no activity won't help a great diet," she adds.
