She Takes Care Of Her Skin
Keys has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it. In order to do so, she had to find the steps and products that work for her. "I've always cared about skincare," she tells Vogue. "But in a way that was very frustrating because I didn't always have good skin. I've learned some of the secrets and I've also found some of the products that work for me – because everybody is different. You've gotta keep trying and find what's good for you."
She Cuts Things Out Of Her Diet
Keys tells Vogue that eating healthy has helped with her skin. She revealed that she has cut some things out. "I've cut out dairy… And also, believe it or not, getting rid of the breads. Let me tell you, I'm the first person… I am a 'breadaholic'. And then obviously, the fried foods, the oil and all that in the skin is never really good."
She Works With A Trainer
Keys works with trainers, Jeanette Jenkins and Anna Kaiser, to help her stay in shape. Working with personal trainers and other fitness experts has a lot of benefits. The Australian Institute of Fitness states, "Having an educated personal trainer beside you to demonstrate the correct posture and technique is invaluable. A personal trainer will ensure clients are performing exercises correctly and efficiently, in order to maximise results. Good form when performing exercises is also essential in reducing the risk of injury. Many people every year are seriously injured by performing exercises they have not received training for, and this can impact their health and fitness for a long time. Having someone trained in how to execute certain tasks will greatly reduce the level of risk and increase the effectiveness of your fitness routine."
She Does Yoga
Keys and Jenkins shared this workout video with POPSugar. In it, they are seen doing yoga poses and stretches. Harvard Health states that yoga has a lot of benefits. "Yoga is known for its ability to soothe tension and anxiety in the mind and body. But it can also have an impact on a person's exercise capacity. Researchers studied a small group of sedentary individuals who had not practiced yoga before. After eight weeks of practicing yoga at least twice a week for a total of 180 minutes, participants had greater muscle strength and endurance, flexibility and cardio-respiratory fitness."
She Does HIIT
In the POPSugar video, Jenkins and Keys are seen doing high-intensity interval training. In it, they do exercises like high knees, side jumps with a reach, and squat lunges. Harvard Health states that HIIT has a lot of benefits. "The main advantage to HIIT is that you can boost your cardiovascular fitness faster by working harder instead of longer. Some small, short-term studies hint that HIIT workouts can produce equal or greater improvements in blood pressure and blood sugar compared with moderate-intensity exercise."
She Makes Time For Herself
Keys opened up about her life and career in an interview with Marie Claire. She says that she priorities time for herself and time to stay at home, no matter how busy her life gets. "My time is important. I want to have time with my family. I want to raise my kids. I don't want to always be 60,000 miles away."
She's Comfortable With Herself
Keys tells Marie Claire that she's extremely comfortable with herself at this point in her life. "I'm reaching a place where I'm much more confidently clear about the power I possess," she says. "I've always been strong and determined. I haven't not known my power, but now I'm clearly aware of all of it, as opposed to just pieces of it."
