She Made Lifestyle Changes
Deem lost a lot of weight. In order to do this, she had to make a lot of changes. She tells Us Weekly that she mostly made changes to her lifestyle, instead of going on diets for a period of time. "It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change," she said.
She Eats More Salads
Deem tells Us Weekly that she is now eating healthier. She says that she is eating a lot more veggies. "I eat salads. I used to hate salads and now I love them." "My favorite salad is blackened salmon with goat or feta cheese, garbanzo beans, Greek olives, beets, tomatoes, carrots and cucumber," dietitian Laura Jeffers, MEd, RD, LD, tells the Cleveland Clinic. "I'll eat any dark green leaf, but spinach is my favorite. I gave up my iceberg lettuce fetish years ago and my body is thanking me….After you wrap salads into your diet regularly you'll be surprised at how you'll begin to feel good about what you're eating — and how creative you can get. Then, slowly build up to one each day, plus full-meal salads once or twice a week. You'll soon have more energy and feel better than ever."
She's Motivated By Her Loved Ones
One of Deem's motivations for getting healthier is her loved ones. She tells Us Weekly that she wants to be there for them down the line. "I've always wanted to enhance my look for Michael because of his age," she explained. "I did it for myself to stay alive … and [to] benefit the ones I love."
She Got Surgery
Deem's biggest weight loss secret was having surgery done. She talked about the process ot Us Weekly. "It's a journey — not only physically, but an emotional journey because you come out of surgery and you just think everything's going to change, but actually you can't eat for a couple months."
She Takes Dance Classes
Deem likes to take dance classes to keep herself in shape. She has been seen dancing on 90 Day Fiancé. She also posted this clip of herself in a class on Instagram. In it, Deem is learning a dance with a chair.
