After gaining weight after moving to the United States, Natalie dropped several clothing sizes by going on the keto diet. The trendy diet emphasizes high-fat foods, severely restricting carbohydrates. Jason Ewoldt, RDN, LD, a wellness dietitian at Mayo Clinic Healthy Living Program (HLP) maintains that 60% to 80% of calories should come from fat, a moderate amount of protein, and less than 50 grams of carbohydrates a day.

2. She Does Intermittent Fasting

As part of the keto diet, Natalie does intermittent fasting. She opts for the 16:8 intermittent method, which entails eating during an eight hour window. " Intermittent fasting is just when you restrict your eating for a period of time. It can be done in many ways. Fasting can be done by the amount of hours you're not eating in a day, if it's by days in the week or it could also entail a caloric fast," says Julia Zumpano, RD, to the Cleveland Clinic. "Generally, fasting means that you should not be eating any solid food and also not consuming any beverages that have calories. Coffee is an exception and so is tea. They technically have five calories or less per serving, but no drink that actually has carbohydrate-based calories. You can drink water, black coffee and unsweetened tea. In some cases you can have a small amount of cream in your coffee, as long as it does not provide a substantial amount of calories or carbohydrates."

3. She Has a Trick for Looking Rested

Natalie has a secret trick for looking rested. She revealed to a fan that she takes aloe vera leaves, cuts them into small pieces, and places them in the freezer. Once frozen she peels the aloe vera and massages them on her face and lips. “Perfect way to remove dark circles under the eyes and tighten the skin,” she said.

4. She Loves Cooking

Natalie loves cooking. She loves it so much that she started posting cooking vlogs on Youtube. One of her favorite dishes? Salmon and salad. Pasta with shrimp, sushi, stuffed bell peppers, and italian pizza are a few more of her favorites.

When she won, she really was “shocked. When I say my heart, my heart was beating. It was coming out of my chest. I genuinely thought everyone's winners. I didn't really expect anything. And then when our names were called, I was like, is this a dream,” she said on Loose Women.

The high-intensity, low-impact Pilates-inspired workout “makes me feel so strong, but also elongated,” Sydney said about her sweat sessions. “I feel so good afterwards.”

Sydney engages in self-care activities. “I love to paint, and I love to read,” she said. “Those are the activities that are just for me.” One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years than those who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

One of the ways she treats her anxiety is by spending time outdoors with her dog, Tank. She takes him on walks or hikes. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day reduced the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”
