While López believes in a balanced diet, she also believes in avoiding certain foods. She tells Hola USA that she cut out one thing in her diet all together. "I completely stopped drinking sodas. I stopped because, for me, they are a trigger that makes me gain weight and delays me in my process." "According to an American Heart Association study, consumption of sugar-sweetened drinks was associated with coronary vascular disease mortality and artificially sweetened drinks were associated with cardiovascular disease mortality in the highest intake category only," she told the Cleveland Clinic.
