1. Silk Pillowcase For Hair Health

Shetty uses a silk pillowcase to help maintain the health of her hair. "Friction from cotton can disrupt the cuticle layer, leading to frizz, breakage, sleep crease, and dry strands," says celebrity hairstylist Justine Marjan. "Silk doesn't absorb or pull moisture from your skin the way traditional cotton pillowcases do, leaving hair hydrated and frizz-free."
2. She’s a Dancer
Shetty loves to dance, and like most Bollywood actresses, she’s very good at it. “We know that movement is good for everyone,” says Emily Sandow, supervisor of dance physical therapy at NYU Langone’s Harkness Center for Dance Injuries. “A healthy lifestyle is integrating the mind, body and soul relationship, and dance has all of those characteristics. Everyone can do something, even if it’s just you just tapping your foot. Everyone can do something where they can move their body to music, and that’s really valuable.”
3. Berries For a Snack
Berries are Shetty’s favorite snack. “On average, people who eat more berries seem to live a little bit longer,” says Eric Rimm, professor of epidemiology and nutrition at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Rimm suggests eating a cup of berries a day.
4. Coffee For an Energy Boost
Shetty enjoys coffee for a decent energy boost. “Coffee helps our brain work better,” says Caroline Thomason, RD, CDCES. “Research suggests that coffee may be good for long-term cognitive health, but not all scientists agree. Coffee may also lower your chances of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Interestingly, caffeine alone may not be enough to reap the mental benefits of coffee. Researchers found that there are other compounds in coffee that contribute to these effects in mice.”
5. Fresh Coconut Water
Shetty enjoys fresh coconut water for a healthy and delicious drink. “Coconut water is the clear fluid inside coconuts,” says Katherine Zeratsky, RD, LD. “It's not the same as coconut milk, which is a blend of coconut water and grated coconut. So coconut water is a type of juice. Unlike other juices, unflavored coconut water is low in sugar and calories. Coconut water is popular for rehydration after exercise or during mild illness. It's true that coconut water has electrolytes, such as potassium, sodium and manganese. The amounts vary by brand.”
