Running is an important part of Espinoza's workout routine. "The benefits are overwhelmingly positive in the vast majority of people who run," says Raul Mitrani, MD, a cardiologist with the University of Miami Health System. "It lowers blood pressure, lowers heart rate, improves metabolism, delays diabetes, promotes weight loss, and prolongs life. If you could take all the benefits of running and put them in a pill, it'd be a bestseller."

Espinoza enjoys reading, which offers many significant health benefits. "Simply by opening a book, you allow yourself to be invited into a literary world that distracts you from your daily stressors," according to the University of Minnesota. "Reading can even relax your body by lowering your heart rate and easing the tension in your muscles."

Inspiring Others

Espinoza is passionate about inspiring other women to follow their dreams the way she did. "I came from nothing. I am the American Dream," she says, saying her mission is to "inspire young girls who think their dreams are impossible. I worked in a fast food restaurant all day, and then I would go to my night job at a clothing store."

The foundation of Espinoza's wellness routine is simple, yet very effective. "I drink a lot of water. And I do yoga," she says. "Those are two of the most important things."

Skincare Maintenance

Espinoza makes sure to give her skin a rest from makeup. "I can't even count the days that I wear makeup – I think it's only on Thursdays, when I have interviews, or for when I have to work," she says. "Other than that, I just don't wear makeup. I just do a deep cleaning on my face and I try to use my skincare products, and I can see a difference."
