Daddario has a healthy relationship with food, and enjoys a balanced diet. “I eat when I’m hungry,” she tells PEOPLE. “I try to stay away from anything unnatural, but if you are trying to stay healthy and you get too hungry, it will only be more difficult to stay away from things like too much sugar if you don’t give yourself what you want sometimes. I’m focused on being healthy and not stressing or obsessing over food… I eat what I like, even if I know it’s not ideal sometimes. You have to allow yourself to cheat. I know if I have some ice cream at night it’s not going to affect me negatively. Enjoy your life!”

Daddario loves to make tacos with delicious avocados, salsa, and lime. “Avocados are high in fat with 60 percent of this being monounsaturated fats, which research suggests helps to protect against heart disease and lower blood pressure,” says registered nutritionist Jo Lewin. “They are also an excellent source of potassium, folate and fiber, all of which benefit the heart and cardiovascular system. The oils supplied by avocado include oleic acid and linoleic acid. These unsaturated fats are recommended as part of a balanced diet to help manage cholesterol.”

Daddario works out with personal trainer Patrick Murphy, who encouraged her to incorporate strength training into her exercise routine. “The training schemes and exercise groupings are changing constantly,” Murphy says. “I put Alexandra through weight training, full body workouts, lower and upper body workouts, in circuit form, superset form and single exercise schemes, using balance tools, resistance bands, cables, free weights and machines.”
5. She Enjoys Quinoa Bowls
Daddario loves to eat healthy grains with quality protein. “A cup of cooked quinoa provides about eight grams of protein and five grams of fiber; it's also a good source of minerals such as manganese, phosphorus, and copper,” says Harvard Health. “It's a good option for getting more plant-based protein into your diet, which is widely recommended for reducing heart disease risk.”
