Alicia Keys’ abs are on fire! The Grammy award winning singer flaunted her uber-toned midsection on social media this week while promoting her skincare line. Wearing a matching sports bra and leggings, it was hard not to appreciate her defined midsection. How does the 40-year-old mother-of-two keep herself fit and flat-abbed? Read on to see 5 ways Alicia Keys stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bikini Photos!

1. She Works Out with a Trainer

Alicia trains with Jeanette Jenkins, whose clients include Kelly Rowland and Pink. "my husband [Swizz Beatz] loves skating, and he's actually good at it! I'm not that good at it, so he's teaching me stuff, and we love it. If we just go outside to the park and skate, it’s really, really fun. And I've definitely been getting my super workout on. One of the workout versions that I do, her name is Taryn Toomey and she does something called The Class. There's another woman named Anna Kaiser, and she has the whole AKT Method that I also do. And Jeanette Jenkins has really helped me learn how to get active and be present and push past the thresholds. That's been helping me just connect to my endorphins and stay connected to myself and feel positive," Keys told Vanity Fair.

2. Her Workouts Are Very Ab-Centric

Alicia shared her routine on YouTube in May 2020, and zero surprise, it involved a lot of abwork. Some of the exercises she executed? Cat-cows, bird-dog, upward dogs, side planks, hip dips, and side crunches. "The core is involved in everything," Jenkins says in the background.

3. She Shuns Bread and Dairy

2021 Billboard Music Awards - BackstageRich Fury/Getty Images

In 2020, Alicia revealed to Vogue that she cut two things out of her diet, and it has helped her achieve her glow. “I’ve cut out dairy... and also, believe it or not, getting rid of the breads,” she said. “Let me tell you, I’m the first person… I am a ‘breadaholic’. And then obviously, the fried foods, the oil and all that in the skin is never really good.”

4. She Drinks a Lot of Water

In the same Vogue interview she revealed that she drinks a ton of water, carrying it around in “a big-ass jug.” “Every day you lose water through your breath, perspiration, urine and bowel movements. For your body to function properly, you must replenish its water supply by consuming beverages and foods that contain water,” says the Mayo Clinic. “So how much fluid does the average, healthy adult living in a temperate climate need? The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is:

  • About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men
  • About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women

These recommendations cover fluids from water, other beverages and food. About 20% of daily fluid intake usually comes from food and the rest from drinks.”

5. She Runs...and Rides

In addition to being a Grammy Award winning singer, a mom, and skincare guru, Alicia is also a marathon runner. In 2015 she even trained for the New York City Marathon. She also uses a stationary bike to get her cardio in.

Alicia Keys had an amazing 41st birthday! The singer just shared some videos and photos in a “recap,” which included her being greeted—and surprised—by friends and family on a private plane (replete with bed and birthday balloons), getting a nice sleek black and white outfit, and then heading to a private Vegas club dancing, singing with the legendary El DeBarge, and spending some time in the pool her husband, record producer and rapper Swizz Beatz. “Whoa,” she said when it was all over. “My mind was blown. This was so amazing! It was family, friends, loved ones—all the things I loved.” She thanked Beatz in the caption. “My love @therealswizzz the way you love me is beyond description!!!!!!!!!” How does she look so good for her age? Read on to see 5 of Alicia Keys’ top tips for staying in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. Work Out with a Trainer

Alicia-Keys-1Alicia Keys/Instagram

Alicia relies on a trainer to keep her in shape. The singer works out with Jeanette Jenkins, whose other star clients include Kelly Rowland and Pink. “Think about the types of physical activities you enjoy most. After all, a fitness program doesn't need to be boring. You're more likely to keep up with a fitness program you enjoy,” says the Mayo Clinic. “If you love riding your bicycle, consider a cycling class. If you have a blast on the dance floor, an aerobics class that includes dance moves would be a good choice. If you're a social person, a gym or health club membership may be a good option for you. If you prefer to exercise alone or you find health clubs intimidating, fitness videos and exercises you can do at home may be best for you.”

2. Do Lots of Ab Work

The secret to Alicia’s abs? The star shared her routine on YouTube in May 2020, which involves tons of ab exercises. Cat-cows, bird-dog, upward dogs, side planks, hip dips, and side crunches are all part of her routine. "The core is involved in everything," Jenkins says in the background.

3. Avoid Bread and Dairy

Alicia cut two things out of her diet in 2020. “I’ve cut out dairy... and also, believe it or not, getting rid of the breads,” she told Vogue. “Let me tell you, I’m the first person… I am a ‘breadaholic’. And then obviously, the fried foods, the oil and all that in the skin is never really good.”

4. Hydrate

Alicia also drinks a ton of water, carrying it around in “a big... jug” she told Vogue. “Every day you lose water through your breath, perspiration, urine and bowel movements. For your body to function properly, you must replenish its water supply by consuming beverages and foods that contain water,” explains the Mayo Clinic. "While the number varies according to age, activity level, food intake, and other factors, the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men and 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women."

5. Do Cardio

2021 MTV Video Music Awards - ArrivalsJason Kempin/Getty Images

Alicia also does a lot of cardio. A marathon runner, in 2015 she even trained for the New York City Marathon. She also uses a stationary bike to get her heart pumping.

6. She Feels Brave and Bold in Her Body

2021 Billboard Music Awards - BackstageRich Fury/Getty Images for dcp

“I was always a thicker girl, and I had a lot of curves early. I'm born and raised in New York, and on the streets, it was always a little bit of hesitation about my curviness because that drew a bit of attention. I dressed in really baggy clothes to hide it. Then as I got older and started to even get into the music industry, I was pretty shy, but I began to explore more. I began to feel more brave and bold,” she told Elle.

7. She Had Skin Issues

Alicia developed Keys Soulcare, a skincare line. “I had challenging skin issues for a long time, even far past puberty. I kept asking everybody, "Isn't that supposed to stop now? Isn't this over yet?" It just kept going, mainly due to stress, primarily due to lifestyle. I internalize a lot. I didn't let things out. Because of that, I wanted to be diligent with my skin, especially when it started to clear up. It feels crazy when your skin is never cooperating with you,” she told Elle.

8. She Makes Time for Daily rituals

“Keys Soulcare is all about creating ritual for ourselves, even in the smallest moments within our days, like when we're getting ready, when we're washing our face in the morning or at night, when we're jumping in the shower to get ready for a big day. Whatever the case, it has this ability to remind ourselves how incredible we are,” she told Elle.

Sophie Piper is embracing island life – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post, the Love Island beauty shows off her fantastic figure in a swimsuit during a tropical vacation at Kandima Maldives with Josh Ritchie. “Island life,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps taken at the picturesque resort. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

She Doesn't Go Under the Knife

Sophie claims she hasn’t gone under the knife. “It’s your own body, you can do what you want to,” she told Grazia, weighing in on the show’s reputation for girls getting work done. “I wouldn’t have surgery myself; I don’t want it. I’ve got such a low pain tolerance as well; I’d be squirming around.”

She Gets Her Steps In

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Sophie loves paddle boarding. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) agrees that paddle boarding is great for the core and cardio. Water sports can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140-pound male and 436 calories for a female of the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.

She Skis

When Sophie hits the mountains, she throws on a pair of skis. “Ski club,” she captioned a photo. Research has linked downhill skiing to several health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, the prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress, and the occurrence of memory deficits decline.

She Loves Group Fitness

“You’ve got to be body confident,” Sophie told Grazia. One of her favorite sweat methods? Group fitness. “A few gym classes can’t hurt,” she said.

She Goes Snorkeling

On her recent Maldives vacation, Sophie and Josh snorkeled in the crystal clear water. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Tammy Hembrow is a fitness influencer and expert. She has her own app, called Tammy Fit. Hembrow has a lot of challenges on her app. Recently, she advertised a challenge with a workout video on Instagram. Hembrow captioned the post, “We are 3 days into our first @tammyfitapp challenge of the year & I am more motivated than everrrrr. (Sign ups are still open if you haven’t joined yet - there’s still time to catch up!! - link in bio). Soooo happy seeing so many of my girlies (and guys) in this challenge doing it with me!! And I CANNOT wait to see everyone’s results at the end of the 8 weeks. We got thissss 💪🏼”

She Does Pulldowns

Hembrow is seen doing pulldowns in her Instagram video. Piedmont reports that pulldowns have a lot of benefits. “The lat pulldown is a fantastic exercise for strengthening the latissimus dorsi muscle, the broadest muscle in your back. This muscle promotes good posture and spinal stability. Form is crucial when performing a lat pulldown to prevent injury and reap the best results.”

She Lifts Weights

Tammy Hebrew is seen using dumbbells.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen doing a lot of exercises with weights in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness states that using weights to workout has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

She Tracks Her Meals

Hembrow likes to track her meals on her app. She talked about the benefits of this in the caption of this “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. “Make sure to take advantage of the calorie/macro tracking features in the @tammyfitapp during this challenge guys. It can be really helpful in reaching specific goals quicker. And it also can help educate you on your food choices when it comes to nutrition, ratios, hidden calories, overeating or under eating etc. honestly I’d recommend any beginner try it out just to get a good feel for how you’re fuelling your body!! I feel like when people think of ‘meal tracking’ it can be seen as something that seems restrictive or something only bodybuilders do. When in reality it can be such a helpful tool and you can learn things that will actually encourage long term habits 🫶🏼🫶🏼”

She Loves Bananas

Tammy Hebrew has a banana snack.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying bananas in her “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. The Cleveland Clinic states that bananas have a lot of benefits. “A single medium-sized banana offers about 32 mg of the mineral magnesium, which fulfills around 8% to 10% of your daily magnesium requirement. Magnesium is involved in many processes in your body, including: Blood pressure. Blood sugar levels. Building proteins. Maintaining bone. Muscle function. Nerve function.”

She Loves Cottage Cheese

Tammy Hebrew's snack the contains banana and cottage cheese.

Tammy Hebrew/Instagram

Hembrow is seen enjoying her bananas with cottage cheese in the previous Instagram video. Cottage cheese is very healthy. UCLA Health reports, “Cottage cheese’s protein content and low calories make it an ideal food for weight management. Research shows that whether you are trying to lose weight or reduce your risk of overweight or obesity, eating a high-protein diet can help you feel full and satisfied for longer.”

It’s hard to believe that Jennifer Aniston is 55 and turning 56 in February! Since soaring to fame in 1994, the Friends star has hardly aged in the three decades that have passed – and she has never been secretive about her devotion to health and wellness. Her hard work over the years has paid off through her strong and lean body and ageless looks. Here is everything you need to know about Jennifer Aniston’s approach to longevity.

She Maintains a High Protein Diet

"My nutrition is very much the same. It's usually a lot of high protein, vegetables, salads, soups,” she tells People. “I do 80/20. I give myself days where I can have whatever I want. I don’t deprive myself,” she added to TODAY. Why should you consider amping up your protein intake? According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW) but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.

She Cheats on Occasion

Jennifer allows herself to indulge in “everything I would possibly want on a weekend,” she told People. Her cheat meal “depends,” she says. “I mean, dare I sound repetitive, but Mexican food is a real favorite of mine. It's not even that much of a cheat, to be honest. Or a cheeseburger or pizza or pasta — all that stuff.”

She Tries to Get Enough Sleep
