1. She is Comfortable in Her Body

La Negra is all about being comfortable with her body. And it doesn’t matter to her what she looks like. She revealed how she developed this mindset to Telemundo's Latinx Now! “I’ve been really stressed out. There was a lot of stuff going on in my life. I love it! And to be honest, I embrace my stretch marks, my cellulite, my dimples, my everything because I can still get it. So what’s the problem? What?”
2. She Wants To Depict A Healthy Lifestyle

La Negra wants to get healthy, and she also wants her fans to see that. “I had a fan base that followed me because I was very curvy and I represented the Latinas and the Black beautiful women that were curvy and I get that part, but some part of that was a little bit unhealthy for me, personally,” she told Latinx Now. “I’m not saying I won’t be able to get back into that, but this time around I kind of want to do it in the gym. To each its own. If you want to unfollow me because I’m not as thick, it’s ok my love because I’ll get a new fan base.”
3. She Doesn’t Care What Others Think

La Negra lives her life on her own terms. And she doesn’t care what other people think she should do. La Negra called these people out on Instagram, writing, “Before, they said I was too FAT and I needed to lose weight! Now they say I’m too skinny and they like me better when I was thick. The point is you can’t ever make people happy is [sic] the most important thing is to make yourself happy!”
4. She Uses Organic Products

La Negra has amazing hair, and she’s very particular about what products she uses. She tells HypeHair that she likes to use organic products. “I was raised by a woman of strength—my mother’s passion and love for our culture has influenced everything in my life, including my hairstyles. My mother always groomed my hair and she focused on the health of my hair and elasticity of the styles. I am a firm believer in bringing natural elements in our daily lives, so products that don’t harm our environment or animals are essential to me.”
5. She’s Motivated By Her Mother
La Negra’s main source of inspiration is her mother. She tells HypeHair, “My source for motivation and inspiration derives from my passion to succeed in all that I do in life — and from my mother. She worked hard to care for me and foster my dreams and I want to be in a position to care for her. Challenges that arise in my life are opportunities for me to work even harder and overcome them.”
