She Got Obsessive About Losing Weight
Prior to going on Love Island Amy went to "extreme" measures to lose weight. "Eight weeks, gym every day, 1800 calories vegan diet plan," she shared in a clip exclusively shared with Metro.co.uk. "I gave up drinking, I'd call in sick to work so I could go to the gym instead."
She Learned That Thinner Isn't Prettier
The weight loss was fueled by a desire to fulfill society's standards."I thought I needed to do that to be attractive to the boys that would be in the villa," she continued. "I think it's because we've been conditioned that thinner is prettier. It's completely wrong and there shouldn't be one body type that is beautiful. I think people need to realise that your dream body should just be your own body."
She Meal Preps
Amy sets herself up for success by meal prepping. MEAL PREP MONDAYS (on a Tuesday….I THOUGHT I PRESSED SAVE OK!!) My new fave breakfast, Raspberry Biscoff Protein Cheesecake! So easy to make, no pans to wash, literally 5 mins! I'm gonna try a dairy free version next week (gotta use the yoghurt up 🤣 we are a zero waste household now dontchaknow," she captioned one of her posts. Another favorite make-ahead dish? Slow cooker beef. "One of my fave dinners because it's hearty, yummy and full of real ingredients," she wrote in another,
Her Approach to Diet and Fitness Is Balanced
Now that Amy is healthier and happier, her approach to health is more balanced. "LIFE 👏🏻IS👏🏻ABOUT👏🏻BALANCE 👏🏻 I know some of you were worried this was going to become a fitness account, I'm still me 💁🏼♀️During lockdown, all I did was work out, eat well and hardly drink. When we came out of lockdown I went out … for 5 months. I've tried a few diet plans etc but I always end up going to excess then feeling guilty! I'm learning to love the gym (I'm a spinning queen now babes) but also enjoy life too and not feel guilty. Let's just say, after my Italian lunch today I am v glad I didn't cancel spin this morning," she captioned a post.
She Prioritizes Self-Care
Amy takes care of herself. "SELF CARE SATURDAY," she wrote in a post. Her rest day might look something like this: "After a long day or a hard gym session I love to come home and relax," she continued. Then she might give herself a facial or do a face mask.
