1. She Loves Asparagus
Gallagher likes to post pictures of her food on Instagram (hey, who doesn’t!) and vegetables such as asparagus remain a firm favorite. “Asparagus is one of a number of vegetables that act as a prebiotic, feeding the beneficial bacteria which live in our digestive systems, helping them thrive and increase in number,” says registered nutritionist Nicola Shubrook. “Encouragingly, research has shown that cooked asparagus may be useful in gastrointestinal conditions as it helps to regulate the digestive system, thereby reducing inflammation and promoting repair.”
2. She Enjoys Fish

Gallagher enjoys grilled fish, a healthy staple in any balanced diet. “Eating fish can improve the health of your body and mind,” says certified culinary scientist Jessica Gavin. “The research is very strong. In fact, there are thousands of studies supporting the benefits of fish. Many of the health benefits are attributed to two omega-3 fats found in fish called eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). EPA and DHA are found in fish, shellfish, seaweed, fish oil, and krill oil. These powerful fats are originally made by microalgae, which is eaten by the fish.”
3. She Eats Cheese

Gallagher enjoys a charcuterie board with plenty of cheese on it. “Cheese provides a slew of beneficial nutrients,” says Samantha Cassetty, RD. “Cheese contains protein, fat and saturated fat, sodium, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and vitamin B12, among other nutrients. However, amounts vary, depending on the type of cheese you select. While many of these nutrients are necessary for optimal health, some, like saturated fat and sodium, are discouraged.”
4. She Snacks on Olives

Gallagher also enjoys olives, which are both delicious and incredibly good for you. “Olives are rich in plant compounds called polyphenols which have effective antioxidant properties,” Shubrook says. “The beneficial effects of these compounds include reducing the risk of chronic diseases such as atherosclerosis and cancer.”
5. Pizza Is Always on the Menu

Gallagher’s diet is healthy, but she won’t say no to the occasional pizza. “A healthy diet isn’t about perfection – but instead, eating healthy wholefoods the majority of the time and balancing it out with your favorite treat foods to fill up your happy cup every once in a while,” says dietitian Melissa Meier. “If that means a week of whole grains and tonnes of veggies is complemented with a few slices of pizza on the weekend, then that’s fine by me.”
