1. She Loves a Good Breakfast

“For breakfast I have an egg, I have an omelet, I have toast with butter, and I have my black coffee,” Panday tells Bollywood Hungama. “For lunch I have a chicken sandwich, and for dinner I have either fish or chicken and soup. And throughout the day I have coffee.” “Whole eggs are nutritionally rich, supplying almost every nutrient you need,” says registered nutritionist Jo Lewin. “They are useful sources of some of the hard-to-get nutrients like vitamins D and B12 as well as the mineral iodine. Eggs are regarded as a ‘complete’ source of protein as they contain all nine essential amino acids, which we must obtain from our diet. Furthermore, if you choose brands enriched with omega-3 fatty acids, due to the diet the chickens are fed, you’ll benefit from higher omega-3 fatty acids as well as fat soluble vitamins such as vitamins A and E.”

2. She Gets Lots Of Sleep

“I need to get at least eight hours of sleep and ten hours is ideal for me,” Panday says. “I sleep a lot.” “Contrary to our quiet physical state, the brain is very active during sleep, carrying out many important functions,” says Erica Jansen, Research Assistant Professor of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. “Sleep is essential to every process in the body, affecting our physical and mental functioning the next day, our ability to fight disease and develop immunity, and our metabolism and chronic disease risk. Sleep is truly interdisciplinary because it touches every aspect of health.”

3. She Loves Seafood

“I love salmon and I love prawns,” Panday says. “I love seafood.” “We’ve long been told that fish is ‘brain food’, and there’s convincing evidence to support this,” says Lewin. “Studies suggest regular consumption reduces age-related brain loss and may improve memory – it’s the omega-3 fatty acids that are responsible for this. Studies investigating the role fatty varieties of fish play have seen benefits for conditions like Alzheimer’s disease, depression and multiple sclerosis.”

“Bhindi. I love bhindi! It's too good,” Panday says. Bhindi is a delicious Indian dish where okra is cooked with onion, tomatoes and spices. “A diet rich in vegetables and fruits can lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, prevent some types of cancer, lower risk of eye and digestive problems, and have a positive effect upon blood sugar, which can help keep appetite in check,” according to the Harvard T. Chan School of Public Health. “Eating non-starchy vegetables and fruits like apples, pears, and green leafy vegetables may even promote weight loss. Their low glycemic loads prevent blood sugar spikes that can increase hunger.”

5. She Drinks Black Coffee

Panday drinks black coffee throughout the day. “I was a tea person but now I'm allergic to tea and milk also doesn't suit me so I just have black coffee every day.” “We have a lot of evidence that coffee is good for the liver,” says liver specialist Jamile Wakim-Fleming, MD. “Coffee is especially helpful when it comes to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. You have to consume regular coffee — not decaf — daily to get the liver benefits. There’s something inherent about caffeine that is helpful to the liver.”

6. She Loves to Eat Bread

While rice is a staple in Indian food, Panday prefers bread. “I'm also allergic to rice, I'm allergic to quite a few things, but I like having bread more than anything. I like having cheese with it.”

“Cheese contains protein, fat and saturated fat, sodium, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and vitamin B12, among other nutrients,” says Samantha Cassetty, RD. “However, amounts vary, depending on the type of cheese you select. While many of these nutrients are necessary for optimal health, some, like saturated fat and sodium, are discouraged.”

7. She Enjoys Cheat Days

What does Panday enjoy on her cheat days? “Everything,” she says. “I like pancakes, cookies, pizza, burgers, brownies, everything.” “Research shows that after a cheat meal, the body increases its metabolism, causing you to burn calories faster,” says Northwestern Medicine. “This is caused by increased levels of leptin, a hormone secreted by fat cells and responsible for maintaining energy balance in the body. After eating a larger meal than usual, your body increases leptin production by as much as 30 percent for up to 24 hours.”

She says that she wants to be a role model for young girls out there. “I don’t ever want young women to look at me and feel any kind of pressure to look or dress like me. I want people to be able to walk up to me and talk to me. It shouldn’t be hard because I am young and I don’t have a filter. I say things that are embarrassing all the time. I tripped and fell yesterday. Even with brand shoots, I am trying to focus on young and fresh brands that resonate with my personality. However, she tells IDiva.com that she doesn’t let them bother her. “I have realised that when people troll you, it is not something that’s on you, it is on them. He has gone through a lot and he takes a joke well but people don’t realise that their words can hurt. Those words might not hurt me, but it is unfair that my parents have to read things about me. I feel it is easy to sit behind a computer screen and say things casually because you can’t say it to someone’s face. I don’t think bullying or trolling is okay in any way.”

Panday tells IDiva.com what her secrets for staying grounded are. “I am still treated the same way by my friends and family, and it helps ground me and detach from the way I am treated on sets or at conferences. It is important to go back to a normal life and talk about something other than films. At such a young age, it is easy to get carried away and be surrounded by yes men but I know my family and friends will always have my back.”

Panday has a lot of confidence. She opened up about her journey with confidence to LifestyleAsia.com. “I know it sounds cliche, but I think that when you start working fresh out of school, as I did at 18 for the film, there are so many issues that a young girl, in general, has with herself,” she says. “We have our body issues, we have our own set of mental health issues, relationships and it could be anything. At that age, we’re constantly battling something or the other. Then at the same time, you’re starting in this big world and you’re putting yourself out there. So I was nervous back then. I didn’t know the ropes to call it. Even though my father’s an actor, I never grew up on a film set in that way. So I was still learning how to conduct myself. I was still learning the way things work, how to interact with people, and how to meet people for work then. I’m a little more confident in myself in general now because I’m easier on myself and I think that’s what it is.”

She also tries to incorporate foods that will give her immunity into her diet. “In terms of my diet, I’m working more on the immunity side of things. In a new social media post, the Love Island beauty shows off her fantastic figure in a swimsuit during a tropical vacation at Kandima Maldives with Josh Ritchie. “Island life,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps taken at the picturesque resort. Sophie claims she hasn’t gone under the knife. “It’s your own body, you can do what you want to,” she told Grazia, weighing in on the show’s reputation for girls getting work done. “I wouldn’t have surgery myself; I don’t want it. I’ve got such a low pain tolerance as well; I’d be squirming around.”

She Gets Her Steps In

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Sophie loves paddle boarding. The American Council on Exercise (ACE) agrees that paddle boarding is great for the core and cardio. Water sports can burn an average of 385 calories for a 140-pound male and 436 calories for a female of the same size, per a study conducted by Arizona State University.

She Skis

When Sophie hits the mountains, she throws on a pair of skis. “Ski club,” she captioned a photo. Research has linked downhill skiing to several health benefits. In addition to promoting physical fitness, it may decrease the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Studies have also found that the more frequently a person skis, the prevalence of known hypercholesterolemia, systemic hypertension, diabetes, the frequency of mental stress, and the occurrence of memory deficits decline.

“You’ve got to be body confident,” Sophie told Grazia. One of her favorite sweat methods? Group fitness. “A few gym classes can’t hurt,” she said.

She Goes Snorkeling

On her recent Maldives vacation, Sophie and Josh snorkeled in the crystal clear water. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

ACE Fitness states that using weights to workout has a lot of benefits. “Strength training with heavy weights improves muscle definition. Muscle definition occurs as the result of muscles remaining in a state of semi-contraction and heavy strength training recruits the larger type II muscle fibers responsible for a muscle’s appearance.”

Hembrow likes to track her meals on her app. She talked about the benefits of this in the caption of this “What I Eat In A Day” Instagram video. “Make sure to take advantage of the calorie/macro tracking features in the @tammyfitapp during this challenge guys. It can be really helpful in reaching specific goals quicker. And it also can help educate you on your food choices when it comes to nutrition, ratios, hidden calories, overeating or under eating etc. honestly I’d recommend any beginner try it out just to get a good feel for how you’re fuelling your body!!
