Read on to see 5 ways Ariana Grande stays in shape and the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bikini Photos!

1. She Doesn’t Eat Animal Products

In 2013 Ariana saw the documentary Forks Over Knives and decided to go vegan. "I've eaten organically since I was little and always kept meat minimal but today marks my first day as a 100% Vegan!!!! Joyous day," she tweeted. "I love animals more than I love most people, not kidding," she explained to The Mirror. "But I am a firm believer in eating a full plant-based, whole-food diet that can expand your life length and make you an all-round happier person. It is tricky dining out, but I just stick to what I know–veggies, fruit, and salad–then, when I get home, I’ll have something else."

2. She Eats These Foods

Ariana is Italian, but doesn’t eat the food because she is vegan, she explained to The Mirror. Per her trainer Harley Pasternak she is a huge fan of Japanese. "She loves daikon, lotus, adzuki beans—almost like a macrobiotic Japanese [diet]," he told Glamour in 2015. She also loves fruit. "I've had at least five strawberries a day since I can remember. They're my favorite food!" she revealed in one tweet. Other go-to snacks include almonds and cashews. "They make great healthy snacks to keep me energized throughout my day!" she told Shape. She also loves coconut water for hydration. “I always have a bottle next to me.”

3. She Tracks Activity

Step counting is also a part of her health plan, per Pasternak. "I give [Ariana] a step goal every day, whether she'll be dancing to get that step goal or watching her favorite movies while walking down the treadmill really slowly," he explained to Popsugar. "Twelve-thousand steps a day and she hits it. I can't imagine her being still."

4. She Stays Away From Junk Food

Ariana attributed her weight loss to ditching junk food. "The reason why I lost so much weight as I did is because I used to live on junk food," she wrote in a Tumblr post (per E! Online). "So I drastically changed my eating habits, started exercising daily, and I'm all around a healthier me."

5. She Does Pilates

“I came into the world really bright and sunny and happy,” Fox recently told the CR Fashion Book as part of their upcoming “CR PARADE” issue. “However, at a certain point, I went through some trauma in childhood and I developed a pretty severe eating disorder and manic depression, which runs in my family, so there was definitely some wrestling with chemical imbalance going on,” she shared. Now? “I’ve been in this moment that has been very proactive and rewarding both emotionally and spiritually. I’m really happy with this moment,” she said.

2. Camila Cabello Heals

Cabello helped launch the Healing Justice Project, which distributed money to good causes. "As I learned more about other people's experiences in the world, I was like, 'How do I help the people who are on the frontlines of dismantling systems that create oppression? And how do I bridge that with my own personal journey with mental health and healing?'" Cabello, who has had anxiety, told People.

3. Madonna Made a Surprise Appearance

2021 MTV Video Music Awards - ShowBennett Raglin/Getty Images

4. Rita Ora is Disciplined

2021 MTV Video Music Awards - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Ora is incredibly disciplined when it comes to her diet. "I've been the girl on tour who eats when she can and goes along when the band wants to go out all the time. But you just can't keep that up," Rita told Shape. "With the plan I'm on, you can eat quite a bit as long as you exercise." She starts her day off with two boiled eggs, asparagus, and half a cup of muesli with almond milk. "For lunch, I have chicken or fish with vegetables, and for dinner, I have six to eight ounces of fish with vegetables and half a potato. Plus snacks," she revealed. One thing she doesn't eat? Bread or sugar. "But I'm not starving myself. I used to be like, 'I'm not eating!' Eating isn't the problem, though. It's about what your body needs, and everyone's body is different."

5. Madison Beer Likes a Hot Bath

2021 MTV Video Music Awards - ArrivalsTaylor Hill/FilmMagic

“My favorite way to wind down and end the day is with a hot bath. Today I’m using lavender essential oils and some Epsom salt to make for a really relaxing soak. I also usually light candles and listen to music to help myself unwind. Right now, I’m really into the new Tame Impala album, mixed with some classics like The Everly Brothers and The Beatles,” she told Refinery 29.

6. Ashanti Cut Out a Lot of Meat

2021 MTV Video Music Awards - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

“I cut out a lot of meat,” Ashanti told People. “I think again, self-health and self-awareness are so important. All of that stuff is so important to maintaining your body, knowing what’s in your food, the GMO’s and the chemicals, and I’m super aware of this stuff.”

7. Kourtney Kardashian is Into Organic

2021 MTV Video Music Awards - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Kardashian hit the VMAs with boyfriend Travis Barker. “Some people know, but I’m crazy obsessed about food,” she once told the Coveteur. “I started going through my pantry last night and it was just making me so angry some of the ingredients that are in some of our snacks. I don’t do my grocery shopping a lot, because I just don’t have time, so I was reading and it looks healthy from the packages, but when you read the ingredients none of it is organic. I’m really into organic. I hate the whole GMO situation.”

8. Ciara is Committed

2021 MTV Video Music Awards - ArrivalsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Ciara tries to workout at least four times a week. "What I learned by having that daily commitment—and it doesn’t mean that I go in the gym every day, because you need to let your body recover—but when I started to become more consistent, I realized how much better I felt, and how much easier my workouts became because it wasn’t so aggressive. That’s game-changing on the body and the mind. I feel like I can conquer the world on the days I work out, and it’s very rewarding," she told People.

9. Billie Eilish Has Been a Vegan

2021 MTV Video Music Awards - ShowKevin Mazur/MTV VMAs 2021/Getty Images

ArianaBiermann2Ariana Biermann/Instagram

When Ariana lost 50 pounds in the time period from 2020 to 2021 she was accused of having an eating disorder. “I'm so over everyone acting like I lost 50 pounds overnight,” she explained in an Instagram Story shooting down the speculation, adding that she lost weight gradually. “I was 167 my sophomore year. 145ish my junior, started really working out, eating healthy etc. January of 2020. I am now 118 over a year and a half later. I was 125 last summer. Please stop. I do not have an eating disorder. I worked my ass off to get to where I am today. I am not sick. This is ridiculous and awful to say to someone,” she said.

2. She Works Out

ArianaBiermann1Ariana Biermann/Instagram

Ariana is committed to fitness and attributes her weight loss to regular exercise. “I wish I could give y’all some insane secret to get skinny overnight but I cant,” she said. “That’s not what I did. I ran 3-5 miles a day with a waist trainer on in 90 degree weather. It was hell. I went to the gym, and worked out.”

3. She Is a Fan of Intermittent Fasting

She maintains that paying attention to how many calories she was consuming and how many she was burning was a big game-changer. “I went into a caloric deficit,” she continued. “I counted my calories.” Bottom line: “It is a process. It takes time. But believe in yourself. Do it for you. You got this!” she said.

Unveiling the Workout Secrets That Keep Ariana Madix in Star Shape

Ariana Madix first came into prominence in 2013, when she joined the cast of the Bravo series, Vanderpump Rules. She quickly was seen as a fan-favorite on the show, and after her long-time boyfriend and fellow cast member, Tom Sandoval, cheated on her with another cast member, she became even more beloved. Madix has released her own cocktail book, Fancy AF, appeared in several commercials and placed third on the most recent season of Dancing With The Stars. Madix is currently starring as Roxie Hart in Chicago. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Ariana Madix stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

1. She Dances

Madix is an avid dancer. Harvard Health states that dancing has a lot of benefits. “The evidence for the health benefits of exercise is indisputable. Physiologic studies have demonstrated that regular activity builds muscle and bone, reduces fat, increases aerobic capacity, lowers blood pressure, and improves the ratio of ‘good’ to ‘bad’ cholesterol. Dance has been shown to have all the benefits of other forms of exercise. Moreover, by incorporating music, dance may have benefits beyond those of exercise alone. Music stimulates the brain's reward centers, while dance activates its sensory and motor circuits. Dancing has improved balance, gait, and quality of life in people with Parkinson's disease and related movement disorders. And several — but not all — studies have indicated that mastering dance movements and patterns yields greater improvements in memory and problem-solving than walking does.”

2. She Wears Sunscreen

Madix has amazing skin and makes sure to take care of it. She shared her secrets with Byrdie. “I never, ever skip my SPF. My bestie taught me the best combo: EltaMD regular and tinted mixed together for the perfect protection and skin tint. My biggest mistake was getting in tanning beds and rebuking SPF. I always tan and never burn so I thought I was somehow immune to the damage the sun can cause. I was very wrong and dealt with melanoma in 2018. Now you’ll never catch me without UV protection!”

3. She’s Consistent With Skincare

When it comes to skincare, Madix makes sure to take care of it consistently. She explained to Byrdie, “Consistency is key! Even if I don’t have time to do an entire routine, if I’m consistently cleansing my face and applying something to seal in moisture, I’ll wake up feeling so much better. If I do a full routine once a week or once a month, it won’t have the same effect.”

4. She Stays Hydrated On Flights

Under,Eye,Dark,Circles,Hydrogel,Patches,With,Aloe,Vera,OnShutterstock

Madix is all about hydration, especially when she’s taking a flight. She shared her secrets for staying hydrated on flights to Byrdie. “I never fly without eye patches. Right now, I’m loving the Nip + Fab Hyaluronic Fix Extreme Jelly Eye Patches ($20). I put them on when we start our descent; it helps to look less dehydrated after flying. It’s not a product, but I buy the biggest bottle of water I can find in the terminal and make myself chug it.”

5. She Wants To Be A Role Model

Madix is open about her struggles with body image, an eating disorder, and mental health. She talked about this in an essay with SELF. “I am putting myself out there being on reality TV, but it’s really tough to be judged. Part of me feels like there are so many people who are just like me, and if I go away or if I’m not around or if it gets to be too much for me, then they won’t see anybody they can relate to. I definitely feel less alone because of everything I’ve been through on TV and through telling my story. I meet people all the time who have gone through similar things, and I think that’s a really big blessing that’s come from this experience: They, in turn, make me feel not alone.”

How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Mariana relies on old-school strength training to keep her body toned. “Training till failure instead of reps + taking my ab routine up a notch by incorporating weighted exercises,” she wrote about one of her workout tactics. “I can feel my muscles being challenged and am in tune with my movements.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. This has helped me feel so much better everyday.” She also gets regular blood work done. “So important to check your levels and know what’s going on in your body routinely! Don’t skip the doc apts, always better to be preventative.”

Mariana does reformer Pilates. “POV: Stepping into the prettiest torture chamber,” she wrote across a video of herself at the studio. Why is Pilates a good workout? According to the Mayo Clinic, the workout has many benefits, as it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility, resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, stress and back pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Emsculpt NEO

Mariana recently got an aesthetic body treatment, Emsculpt NEO. “I’ve heard all the rage about the benefits to spot reducing fat & toning muscle so I had to give it a try to target those pesky lower abs. It was a 10/10 & a great addition to my workout routine,” she wrote.

She’s Consistent

Last year, Culpo was preparing for her wedding. She told E! News that she made sure to be consistent with her wellness in order to prepare. “Really trying to dial in [on] what I eat, how I workout, the workouts that I do. Trying to get them in consistently because you only get married once and I want to feel my best. But this past season it was just hard being so far away from my normal routine and where I typically live."

She Keeps Her Skin Healthy While Traveling

Culpo has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it, even while traveling. “I don't wear any makeup when traveling," she says to Travel + Leisure. "That's one rule because I do feel like you will have a higher chance of breaking out if you are wearing a full face of makeup. A few things I always have with me is some sort of a spray. I love Dr. Barbara Sturm or Caudalie or La Mer. I also absolutely love traveling with a makeup wipe, the Neutrogena wipes are great. Something to just take off the sweat you build up.”

She Keeps Her Skincare Simple

Culpo shared her skincare routines with Byrdie. She says that she keeps her morning and night routine simple. “I am always trying out new products, so what I gravitate toward is often changing. At night, I usually use an oil and a serum. Right now, I love the Clarins Double Serum. In the morning, I use a Vitamin C serum and an SPF, and, typically, I just rinse my skin with warm water instead of using a cleanser. It is something I swear by—it allows for the oils on my skin from sleeping to absorb naturally.”

She Uses Products With Vitamins

Culpo shared some of her favorite skincare products with Byrdie. She says that she uses ones that have vitamins in them. “I have noticed a huge difference in my skin with vitamin C and E. I love the Good Janes H2OMyGod Moisturizer—it's sort of an all-in-one moisturizer that has vitamin C and collagen peptides. As for vitamin E, I actually just purchase the oil from the drugstore. It is super cheap and great to put on any red marks I may get from an occasional breakout. The healing process is so much quicker when I am using Vitamin E oil.”

She Packs Healthy Snacks

Culpo makes sure to eat healthy. She shared some of the snacks she packs with her with Travel + Leisure. "I love the Kind bars. I love any sort of nuts, to be honest with you. They are a go-to snack for me. I would say Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% and some almonds would be perfect! Also, electrolytes to stay hydrated or some sort of collagen beauty powder or something."

Abigail Ratchford’s amazing body has helped her become one of the most famous models on the internet. The 32-year-old, who boasts over 9.1 million followers on Instagram alone, attributes her measurement-defying body to a few simple habits. Here is everything she does to stay fit at 32.

She Follows 4 Diet Rules

Abigail swears that abiding by simple rules helps her stay in shape. “I can’t diet. That just doesn’t work for me,” she told New Beauty. “I started to be healthier by first cutting out soda. Then, I stopped eating after 7 p.m. Finally, I started really watching my portions so I was eating fewer calories every day. And water—lots and lots of water.”

She UsesMyFitnessPal

Abigail explains being accountable for what she eats is crucial. While it’s not “rocket science,” she does use the MyFitnessPal app to track her eating. “I’m the type of person who likes to eat what I want. The app can help anyone do that—you can still eat great food, you just eat less of it,” she added New Beauty.

Pilates

Abigail is a fan of Pilates. “Group workout classes are so big right now, but I always get nervous around other people in settings like that. I have to go at my own pace without a bunch of distractions so, for me, Pilates with a one-on-one instructor works best. It’s not cheap, but then you also aren’t tempted to skip,” she said She added to Men’s Fitness via Muscle & Fitness that the workout “keeps you long and lean” — and the Mayo Clinic agrees. They say it “strengthens the body's inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.

Balanced Diet

“I love green juices and smoothies. Sometimes I’ll put some protein powder in the morning—I feel like the mix of vegetables, and vitamins and stuff that’s in them, really gives me a lot of energy in the morning. I love BBQ food—my ultimate cheat is a pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato fries, and macaroni and cheese from this great place in LA,” she told Men’s Fitness.

Strength Training

Ratchford also lifts weights. “Initially, I made the mistake that a lot of girls do and I was only doing cardio. I just really didn’t see too much change in my body. I’ve been listening to my girlfriends who are in great shape and they say you have to do weight training, you have to go in and do squats. That’s my new thing—I’ve been doing some resistance training, circuit training,” she told Men’s Fitness. The Mayo Clinic explains that strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

Develop strong bones

Manage your weight

Enhance your quality of life

Manage chronic conditions

Sharpen your thinking skills
