1. She Works Out

Exercise is a big part of Balvinder’s life. “I have always liked to keep fit,” she told Just Say It How It Is. “I started doing Aerobics at the age of about 14? And just kept going. It is important to me that I work out. Sometimes you just need to get out of your own head and into your body. I always try to make time for something physical, even if that is just going for a walk.”

2. She Does Yoga

In addition to “long walks” and working out in a gym, Balvinder also is a fan of “doing yoga,” she told Just Say It How It Is. According to the American Osteopathic Association, there are more than 100 different types, or schools, of yoga. Most practices include breathing exercises, meditation, and assuming postures (sometimes called asana or poses) that stretch and flex various muscle groups.“The relaxation techniques incorporated in yoga can lessen chronic pain, such as lower back pain, arthritis, headaches and carpal tunnel syndrome,” Natalie Nevins, DO, a board-certified osteopathic family physician and certified Kundalini Yoga instructor in Hollywood, California, explained to them. “Yoga can also lower blood pressure and reduce insomnia.”

Other physical benefits of yoga include:

  • increased flexibility
  • increased muscle strength and tone
  • improved respiration, energy and vitality
  • maintaining a balanced metabolism
  • weight reduction
  • cardio and circulatory health
  • improved athletic performance
  • protection from injury

3. She Does Hula Workouts

Sporty,Woman,Is,Exercising,With,Hula,Hoop,In,Fitness,GymShutterstock

Balvinder also puts a creative spin on her workouts with the help of hula hoops. “Hula Squatting is brilliant, isn’t it?! I created that at home one day and I really enjoyed it. I am also playing around with Hula Zumba and have choreographed a few routines,” she told the same publication.

4. She Drinks A LOT of Coffee

Navinder is a big fan of coffee, regularly sharing posts about her love of the caffeinated beverage on Instagram. Science continues to prove that drinking coffee is great for your health. In fact, a new 2022 study published in European Journal of Preventive Cardiology found that drinking two to three cups a day of most types of coffee – especially a mild to moderate intake of ground, instant, and decaffeinated coffee – may protect you from cardiovascular disease and an early death. Researchers found “significant reductions” in the risk for coronary heart disease, congestive heart failure and stroke for all three types of coffee. But, only ground and instant coffee with caffeine decreased risk for arrhythmia, or irregular heartbeat.

5. She Takes Time for Self-Care

Balvinder takes time to relax. “I love gardening and reading (not at the same time) as I find them both very soothing. I spend a lot of my time travelling up and down the country for work, and I love that too. Train journeys can be wonderful with a good book, or your favourite music to accompany you. Oh, and crosswords especially on a train journey this is not complete without doing the Metro’s crossword,” she told Just Say It How It Is.

1. She Has Learned to Love Herself

“HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY ✨ Today is a day where we can celebrate us. I have so many women in my life who inspire me every day and I wanted to give a little something today that can hopefully inspire one of you. Loving our imperfections can be difficult, but when you learn to embrace them and realise that our imperfections don’t define us, they are just a part of us alongside everything else that creates you as a person. None of us are the same, and that’s a special thing. We are one of a kind 🤍 This picture shows me at my most vulnerable… but I’m learning to love myself, imperfections and all. And so should you,” she wrote once.

2. She Was Once “Unhealthily Skinny”

"I went from a size 10 to a six, and it’s the smallest I’ve ever been as a young adult. Because of my height, this made me look unhealthily skinny, of which I was (not eating barely anything, feeling ill all the time, tired, dizzy) and I remember looking at myself, I’d lost my boobs and my bum and those curves I once had and I missed them,” she wrote on Instagram. "The point of this [is], since coming out of Love Island, I found my love for food again and yes I’m getting back to my usual size."

3. She Likes a Nice Bath

“Drowning my sorrows in the bath because my Met Gala invite got lost 💔…,” she captioned one recent photo. Consider adding Epsom salt. “Pour about 300 grams (1.25 cups) of Epsom salt into a clean bathtub as it fills with hot water. (Avoid using Epsom salt in a tub with jets, a hot tub or a whirlpool bath unless the manufacturer says it’s OK.),” says the Cleveland Clinic.

4. This is Her Skin Icon

"At the moment the make-up I use does change fairly often, not necessarily my staples like concealer and foundation, but I do switch up the bronzers, blushers and mascara that I use,” she has said. Her icon? "Meghan Markle, her skin is absolutely flawless – her make-up always looks lovely as her make-up always looks lovely and natural."

5. She Has Had Acne

Pride Of Britain Awards 2021 - Red Carpet ArrivalsMike Marsland/WireImage

“I suffered from acne about a year and a half ago and then I started to work with a skin aesthetician, who helped me to find my skincare routine and helped me to start dealing with the breakouts. Now that my acne has gone, we are on more of a journey to find the right products; doing treatments like microneedling once a month to deal with the scarring. I am so happy with the outcome because the difference from what it was to now is just incredible. I genuinely used to think there was never going to be a time when I could get rid of the acne and I think when you are suffering you think it’s going to be with you forever. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t an overnight process – it took me a year and a half to be acne free, but through a good skincare routine and using the right products it can be combated. My skin aesthetician advised me that the products you use to treat acne don’t start working for 4-6 months, so it took six months before I started to see a difference. The secret to good skin is also about good lifestyle, it’s all about looking after the inside to make your skin glow,” she told Hello.

Indian actress Eshanya Maheshwari is soaking up the beautiful weather in Dubai, UAE. Maheshwari, 30, shared a picture of herself posing on a lounger by the pool in a blue two-piece swimsuit, stretching in the sun. “She had a mischievous smile, curious heart and an affinity for running wild,” she captioned the post. 1. Ghee For Cooking and Skincare

On,The,Beautiful,Slender,Legs,Of,A,Young,Girl,MeltsShutterstock

Maheshwari loves ghee, both as an ingredient and for skincare. “Some people who avoid dairy for digestive reasons may tolerate ghee better than butter,” says registered dietitian Candace O’Neill. “But in general, they should be fine with butter as well because the amounts of lactose and casein are so small. If you have a casein allergy, you should definitely avoid consuming both in case of cross-contamination.”

2. She Loves Tea

Maheshwari loves traditional black chai (tea), which research shows is beneficial for aiding fat loss. “Our findings suggest that black tea, through a specific mechanism through the gut microbiome, may also contribute to good health and weight loss in humans,” says Susanne Henning, PhD. “The results suggest that both green and black teas are prebiotics, substances that induce the growth of good microorganisms that contribute to a person’s well-being.”

3. Baths For Self-Care

Maheshwari loves long baths for self care. “Wash away your troubles in a bath full of bubbles,” she captioned an Instagram post. Baths are known to be good destressors. “Baths also create a good environment for meditation, thought and escape from everyday stressors,” says Amy Zack, MD. “Promoting relaxation helps you let go of things that can keep you awake as you try to wind down.”

4. Protein Shakes

Maheshwari enjoys protein shakes for nutrition on the go. “Eating enough protein is not just for athletes or would-be Schwarzenegger types,” says Emily Gelsomin, MLA, RD, LDN. “It is necessary for a healthy immune system and required for organs like your heart, brain, and skin to function properly. The nutrient is also touted for its ability to help control appetite and enhance muscle growth.”

5. Sunscreen Every Day

Maheshwari is religious about protecting her skin from the sun. “For day-to-day use, pick a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30,” says Anna Lien-Lun Chien, MD. “If you spend time outdoors, choose a product with SPF 60 or greater. In reality, most people do not use as much sunscreen as they should, and this higher SPF helps compensate for the reduced application.”

She shared the clip via her Instagram Stories, also sharing a photo of her breakfast: A bagel sandwich and coffee. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Strength Training

Abby Dowse trains in the gym

Abby spends lots of time at the gym strength training with a personal trainer. Her routine includes squats, lunges, rows, planks, and lifting heavy weights. She regularly shares workouts in her Instagram Stories and has a tab devoted to them. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Jump Roping

She also jump ropes. “My type of cardio,” she captioned an Instagram Story clip. “Not only can the repetitive movement of skipping rope elevate your heart rate, work muscles in the arms and legs and burn calories, it may even provide a quick jolt of joy,” says Nike.

Biking

Abby Dowse rides a stationary bike

In another Instagram Stories clip, she cycles on a stationary bike. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is excellent for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis

Coffee

Abby enjoys the perks of caffeine. She loves coffee. According to the Cleveland Clinic, drinking coffee in moderation has several benefits. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.

Sauna

Abby is all about the heat. She enjoys hot saunas. “Sauna got me good 💦😅💯,” she captioned a post. Should you take a dry sauna? While some claim the health benefits of saunas are plentiful, including detoxification, increased metabolism, weight loss, increased blood circulation, pain reduction, antiaging, skin rejuvenation, improved cardiovascular function, improved immune function, improved sleep, stress management, and relaxation, there isn’t a lot of research backing up the claims.

Either way, you know that the actress, model, and TV host is stunning and has a gravity-defying body. How does she keep herself physically fit at 30? Here is everything you need to know about her diet, fitness, and self-care approach.

She Exercises For 30 Minutes Per Day

Antje makes sure to move daily, but “Every day is different!” she told Women Fitness about her approach to exercise. “That’s my favorite part about my life. It keeps it interesting and keeps me on my feet. Some things I do keep in my everyday routine are my workouts. I make sure I hit the gym or do some type of physical activity every day, even if it’s just for 30 minutes.”

Strength Training

Strength training is Antje’s go-to workout. “I lift weights 4 or 5 days a week. I focus on one or two muscle groups at a time and make sure to alternate them so they have time to recover throughout the week,” she says. “I lift for about an hour.” According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Develop strong bones
  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

Walking on an Incline and Running Intervals

Vivien Killilea/Getty Images

Antje gets a lot of use out of the treadmill. “Before I lift I warm up by walking at an incline for 5-10 minutes,” she says. “And I always end my workout with running in intervals for 5-10 minutes.” Walking on an incline burns more calories than walking fast or even running on a flat surface, so many experts suggest upping your incline. A 2013 study even found that walking on a 2 to 7 percent incline increased heart rate by almost 10 percent compared to running on a flat surface.

SoulCycle

Another workout she loves? Cycling. “I also Soul Cycle 3 times a week, which is my new obsession,” she revealed. The Cleveland Clinic explains that biking, a low-impact aerobic exercise, is excellent for building muscle, improving strength and flexibility, and improving balance. It can also boost mental health and help other health conditions, including arthritis.

A "Laid Back" Diet and Hydration

“My diet is pretty laid back. If I have something big coming up I’ll obviously be more strict on myself but it’s also hard when you have my lifestyle and travel a lot. I try to eat as healthy as I can on a regular basis though. I always make sure to eat a lot of protein, mainly chicken and other lean meats. I also make sure to drink plenty of water!” she told Women Fitness. Why should you focus your meals around protein? According to clinical trials, consuming more protein than the recommended dietary allowance not only reduces body weight (BW), but also enhances body composition by decreasing fat mass while preserving fat-free mass (FFM) in both low-calorie and standard-calorie diets.

Actress Sophie Turner is currently enjoying a vacation with friends in the beautiful Maldives. She recently shared a set of photos from the trip on Instagram. In them, Turner is seen snorkeling, bike riding, cooking, and spending time on the beach. She wore different swimsuits in the post, showing off her impressive figure, and got praise in the comments. Turner captioned the post, “Who knew that all it takes to be happy is tea tasting, perfume making, breathwork, sound therapy, spotting dolphins, watsu, cooking classes, turtle snorkeling, massages and getting burnt on the beach with your besties in the Maldives at @joalibeing.”

She Swims

Turner likes to swim to keep herself in shape. While on her Maldives vacation, she and her friends did some snorkeling. Swimming is very beneficial. The Cleveland Clinic says, “According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a 154-pound person who swims slow freestyle laps for 30 minutes burns 255 calories. But that amount varies depending on your weight, speed and stroke. Swim England reports that butterfly stroke burns the most calories, but because it can be so hard to learn and to maintain — especially for beginners — it’s not recommended as a weight loss go-to. Freestyle is the better option, and only after you’ve learned how to do it the right way.”

She Bikes

Sophie and a friend take a boardwalk cruise

Turner is seen biking on the walkway by the beach in her Instagram post. Biking has a lot of health benefits. A Healthier Michigan states, “Biking is a calorie burner. All that work your body is doing by pedaling and balancing not only works muscles in your arms and core, but it counts as serious cardio exercise and burns calories with every spin of the wheels. By biking at a moderate pace, about 12 or 13 miles per hour, a person weighing 155 pounds burns nearly 300 calories in 30 minutes, according to statistics shared by Harvard University. Like to pedal faster? A person of that same weight doing a fast pace of 14 or 15 miles per hour burns more than 370 calories in 30 minutes.”

She Cooks

Sophie Turner sips on wine while cooking dinner

Sophie Turner/Instagram

Turner makes sure to eat a healthy diet. In her Instagram post, she is seen cooking a rice dish, and enjoying fresh vegetables. Cooking has a lot of health benefits. Harvard Health says it can help you eat better. “We already know that the more people cook at home, the healthier their diet, the fewer calories they consume, and the less likely they are to be obese or develop type 2 diabetes. A growing body of scientific evidence supports teaching patients how to cook meals at home as an effective medical intervention for improving diet quality, weight loss, and diabetes prevention.”

She Embraces Discomfort

Turner is open about her past struggles with an eating disorder. She revealed to British Vogue that she has learned to embrace her uncomfortable feelings to help her treat it. "I know when I'm in a bad headspace that the eating thing will always flare up. But now I regulate it by sitting in the discomfort and just getting used to that feeling of being full. It's all exposure therapy. I think life is exposure therapy."

She’s Comfortable With Her Body

Turner tells British Vogue that having her kids helped her be comfortable with her body. "I remember after I had my baby, my therapist asked me how I felt in my body. And of course I was like, 'Well, there's milk leaking from my breasts and I've been bleeding for a month.' Then she reminded me how amazing it is that our bodies can do this and how important it is to put all the nutrients in your body so that it can do that. I mean, it sounds so simple, but I never thought of my body in that way before."
