She Writes
Hadid is open about her struggles with anxiety and her mental health. She revealed some of her favorite wellness practices to Bustle. "I love to write poetry and to write in general, but when I wake up in the morning and I have brain fog, I'll get frustrated because I'm like, 'How can I not write?' But using your brain is how you continue to help it function better. For me, journaling for 30 minutes in the morning before I get on my phone helps with my anxiety."
She Meditates
Hadid likes to practice meditation. She tells Bustle that this is one of the things she likes to do each morning. "I do a gratitude meditation. Just to start my day and say, 'I'm grateful that I'm alive, I'm grateful for all that I have.' These aren't huge things, but they're what help me get through the day in a positive way so I can reinforce good habits."
She Has Time To Herself
Hadid says that her time to herself is extremely important. She revealed some of her favorite things to do in her spare time to Bustle. "I plan acupuncture, a massage, or a vitamin IV. I might also just chill and take a bath. I'm pretty low-maintenance when it comes to my time off. Sometimes what's best for me is to do absolutely nothing and not feel guilty about it.
She Takes Time Away From Her Phone
Hadid has a large presence on social media. However, she revealed to W Magazine that she has to spend time away from her phone for her own wellbeing. "I've realized my growth, mentally, when I'm not on my phone," she said. "When I am on my phone, I realize how much more it affects me because all of a sudden I'll be staring at this thing and realizing I'm comparing myself again. I'm looking at myself differently. I'm talking down to myself. I'm not with my family."
She Stays Active
Hadid tells W Magazine that she likes to keep busy. She says that she is constantly doing things to stay active. "When my brain is active, that's when I genuinely feel better. The whole frontal lobe of my brain was asleep because modeling wasn't stimulating for my brain. And so, just being able to do things that make me happy a few times a week, even if it's just driving to get pizza in Brooklyn or something at night—it's just little fun things that make you feel better."
