Bella, who has a history of disordered eating, tries to avoid counting calories. In the Vogue interview she revealed that a psychiatrist prescribed extended-release Adderall for what they believed to be ADHD, which suppressed her appetite and eventually led to her anorexia. “I was on this calorie-counting app, which was like the devil to me,” she told Vogue. “I’d pack my little lunch with my three raspberries, my celery stick. I was just trying, I realize now, to feel in control of myself when I felt so out of control of everything else.” She still battles body dysmorphia. “I can barely look in the mirror to this day because of that period in my life.”

Bella also revealed that when she was 14 when she underwent plastic surgery, a nose job. She now has regrets. “I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors,” she told Vogue. “I think I would have grown into it.” She added that despite what people think, she hasn’t touched her face since. “People think I fully fucked with my face because of one picture of me as a teenager looking puffy. I’m pretty sure you don’t look the same now as you did at 13, right? I have never used filler. Let’s just put an end to that. I have no issue with it, but it’s not for me. Whoever thinks I’ve gotten my eyes lifted or whatever it’s called—it’s face tape! The oldest trick in the book. I’ve had this impostor syndrome where people made me feel like I didn’t deserve any of this. People always have something to say, but what I have to say is, I’ve always been misunderstood in my industry and by the people around me.”

4. She Prioritizes Her Mental Health

Bella, who suffered “burnout” in 2021 which led her nearly attempting suicide, is very vocal about mental health issues. At the time, she entered a treatment program in Tennessee for over two weeks and added talk therapy and medication, Wellbutrin, to her holistic regimen. “For so long, I didn’t know what I was crying about. I always felt so lucky, and that would get me even more down on myself. There were people online saying, You live this amazing life. So then how can I complain? I always felt that I didn’t have the right to complain, which meant that I didn’t have the right to get help, which was my first problem,” she told Vogue.

5. She Tries Not to Drink too Much

Hadid did Dry January for the first time in 2022 and now tries to keep drinking toa minimum. "Over the years, I've always found myself reverting to alcohol when I feel low energy, or my anxieties start to come up. I've really scaled back my alcohol consumption this year and have made brain care my ultimate priority,” she told InStyle. "Moderation is everything for me. While I rarely get 'drunk' anymore, I've completely stopped drinking hard alcohol… I have learned what my body can and can't handle. I'm a 'glass of Champagne and head home' kind of girl."

Bell told WSJ. Magazine that the pandemic led her to "realize now that my body is a temple and the routine that we have in the morning, especially Monday mornings, is … almost the most important thing because if you don't start your week on a good note, it's not going to be good for you."

Bella has also been open about her battle with Lyme disease. “I do have good days. Today is a good day. My brain fog is feeling better, I don’t feel depressed.
