“I'd like to think that I'm not a very fearful person,” Ashley recently told Glamour. “We’re in an industry that, yes, as an artist you can feel certain pressures at times, but we're not performing heart surgery or curing diseases or having lives dependent on us. That's real pressure. When I put that into perspective, I'm like, ‘It's fine.’”

Ashley likes to get her sweat on al fresco. “I'm a big nature person,” she told Conde Nast Traveller. One method she adores? “I love hikes, going to the beach, eating really good food. For me, a perfect vacation would be exhausting myself playing in the sand, swimming, hiking, exploring, and then treating myself to an absolutely massive meal and some really nice wine with friends and good music. I'm trying to be a bit more cultured and push myself to do more city-searching and going to exhibitions and all of that. But at heart, I'm a big explorer,” she said.

Ashley likes to get her fight on. She revealed to Glamour that she spent her downtime during filming "hanging with her dog, watching old episodes of Friends, going on hikes. She learned kickboxing, ate healthy, and even managed to get some reading done."

Ashley also rides horses. She told Glamour UK that she has improved since Bridgerton. ‘I’m quite natural and I’m quite sporty anyway,’ she said. “At the start, I was in the saddle every other day, pretty much for one to one and a half hours a day. I loved it.” She added that it also helps her mental health.

5. She Drinks Green Juice

In one of her Instagram videos, Simone chugs green juice out of a large pitcher. "Consider blending instead of juicing. Blending the edible parts of fruits and vegetables produces a drink that contains more healthy phytonutrients and fiber. Fiber can help you feel full," says the Mayo Clinic. Salmon is Ashley’s go-to food for energy, especially prior to shooting. “On my first day, I was like, “OK, first day as a leading lady, got to eat lots of food, be really energized. So, I had this massive portion of salmon and that’s when I needed to be sick, basically because I was wearing the corset,” she told Glamour UK. “I realized when you wear the corset, you just don’t eat. It changes your body. I had a smaller waist very momentarily. Then the minute you stop wearing it, you’re just back to how your body is. I had a lot of pain with the corset, too, I think I tore my shoulder at one point!”

Bridgerton star Simone Ashley says she loves Los Angeles because she gets to enjoy the beautiful year-round sunny climate—and she’s sharing that sentiment on her social media with some glowing snaps. Ashley went through intense training for her Bridgerton role. “With Bridgerton, it’s much more intense than Sex Education in the sense that if I’m not filming, I’m horse riding, training or in rehearsals,” she says. “I’m in accent training or I’m in a fitting. I’ve never really worn a corset before, so that took some getting used to! My body definitely changed a little bit wearing it and that kind of changed my posture a lot to suit the era. Horse riding… I’ve never really ridden before. I rode once, years ago, but I did some intense training for that and it turns out I’m a natural at it so that’s a great thing!”

Ashley’s favorite dish is curry made by her mother. “I like making breakfast; whether it’s a smoothie or just scrambled eggs, it’s the first thing I think about, to be honest, in the morning,” she says. “I’m South Indian, so I’m Tamil, and the food… I mean my mum, she cooks the most amazing food. I love cooking. I don’t really get to do it much with traveling around all the time and being on set, so it’s nice and a bit therapeutic to use my brain in a different way.”

3. Corset Troubles

Ashley learned the hard way how difficult it is to wear a corset all day. "On my first day, I was like, 'OK, first day as a leading lady, got to eat lots of food, be really energized.' Ashley struggled with academics when growing up in the UK. "I failed at everything in school,” she says. “It was just my attention that was bad. I was awful – at maths, all of that stuff. Just had no interest. And my brother would force me and sit me down, bless him, and get me to revise, get me to study. He tried so hard and I just had zero interest in it. I was very stubborn in that sense. If I didn’t like it, then I just wouldn’t do it."

5. Hiking and Sunshine

Ashley took full advantage of the outdoors hiking scene while working in Los Angeles. “I do love LA,” she says. “I have more fun here, when I’m out here, and I eat better; I think it’s the sun. It just makes me feel a bit more energized and proactive. I used to drive a little Mustang when I was living out here, and I loved it. I’d always have Fleetwood Mac blasting and I’d just take off. I grew up listening to that kind of music. The Doors, Rolling Stones, Fleetwood.”

Meghann Fahy’s top tip? Hydration. “I down a massive Yeti water bottle, pre-coffee. Hydrating myself is key. I drink so much more water than I even care to drink because I think that it really really helps me get through those 14-, 15-, 16-hour days that we pull sometimes. It helps mentally and physically, and it’s great for my skin,” she told Women’s Health. “On days I can sleep till 7:00, I go to Orangetheory or run. I live in [Brooklyn], so I run by the water a lot,”

2. Simona Tabasco Loves Outdoor Exercise

True to her last name, Simona Tabasco likes to keep things spicy and even has a [chili-pepper tattoo on her forearm]. “Yes! I love it,” she told Vulture about being named after hot sauce. “I love that it’s in my name and part of me. But specifically, it reflects my personality — or at least half of it. There’s a side to me that’s quite quirky and spicy.” She also enjoys outdoor exercise. Two of her favorite forms of fitness? Swimming and hiking.

3. Haley Lu Richardson Dances

Fun fact: Haley Lu Richardson was a competitive dancer before she became famous, and it is still her go-to fitness form. “I danced for like eight or nine years. I was super focused and committed to that; all I did was go to school and then dance and get no sleep. That’s when I learned about self-motivation and committing to something, and also about how much I love entertaining and telling stories. And I think dance and acting have those things in common,” she told The Last Magazine.

4. Leo Woodall Hikes

Leo Woodall enjoys hiking. “Still sore from getting that Uber to the tippy top,” he joked about his Runyon Canyon hike in Los Angeles. Physical benefits of taking a hike include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.

5. Aubrey Plaza Loves Yoga

Aubrey Plaza explained to The Cut that she believes wellness is “being conscious of what you’re putting into your body and on your body, and taking care of yourself.” She starts her day with water, followed by a smoothie, coffee, and ginger tea. Beatrice Granno loves to go for walks, a great way to stay in shape according to science. The show "touches many different genres but I do love that it taps into horror a little bit but also psychological thriller because I love to see the progression of these girls as they're stuck in the wilderness—like, how it affects your mental health and the extremes that they end up going through because they've been stuck there for so long and how some friendships with the girls that were together before the plane crash, how it will affect is friendships and they'll fall apart and how other relationships will come together and some girls will grow together,” she told Sky Atlantic. “But even though it's very dark and it's very intense, there is also some lightness to it and some funny moments specially with like the older cast. You can tell they have trauma that has all of them throughout the years but there's also some funny moments and there's some loving moments also in there.”

Yellowjackets star Melanie Lynskey—who plays the adult Shauna—looked for commonalities in their performance. “Sophie has more directness in her manner. I feel like I’m quite apologetic. I mean, I’m from New Zealand and we’re all basically apologizing for our existence with every word we speak. We’re like, ‘Aw, sorry but here’s what I think.’ My own sort of energy is not quite as direct and confident as Sophie’s, and it was something that I really loved about her and I thought, ‘This is an interesting thing to try to have Shauna be a little bit more good with eye contact, a little bit stronger, not so sort of [hunched] with her body, but a bit more confident with her body,’ because there was something in Sophie that’s like an inherent strength, which I think is really nice for the character,” she told Collider.

We were “finding things that Melanie and I had in common with Shauna,” Nélisse told the Washington Post. “Which mostly is this underlying power that she doesn’t have [at first] that really progresses.” The character Shauna is “in this constant struggle [to] accept her darker side, the darkness I think she doesn’t want to admit that she has, that kind of scares her almost, at times. … I think there’s this constant conflict [between] being herself and being who people want her to be.”

In fact, she even fires back from time to time. Sims posted a video on her Instagram story of herself eating a cheeseburger. “Not so rare footage of me eating a cheeseburger,” Sims wrote.

2. She’s Charitable

Sims loves to give back to others. She tells Jupiter Magazine that she works with the charity Pageant of Hope. “I lost both of my grandfathers to cancer at an early age, and I was raising money for Relay for Life with my grandmother to benefit the American Cancer Society,” says Sims. “Through that organization, I got to work directly with childhood cancer patients and even do hospital visits in Atlanta. I was inspired by that and wanted to spend more time with these amazing kids, some of whom were my age at the time.”

"That's one rule because I do feel like you will have a higher chance of breaking out if you are wearing a full face of makeup. A few things I always have with me is some sort of a spray. I love Dr. Barbara Sturm or Caudalie or La Mer. I also absolutely love traveling with a makeup wipe, the Neutrogena wipes are great. Something to just take off the sweat you build up.”

Culpo shared her skincare routines with Byrdie. She says that she keeps her morning and night routine simple. “I am always trying out new products, so what I gravitate toward is often changing. At night, I usually use an oil and a serum. Right now, I love the Clarins Double Serum. In the morning, I use a Vitamin C serum and an SPF, and, typically, I just rinse my skin with warm water instead of using a cleanser. It is something I swear by—it allows for the oils on my skin from sleeping to absorb naturally.”

Culpo shared some of her favorite skincare products with Byrdie. She says that she uses ones that have vitamins in them. “I have noticed a huge difference in my skin with vitamin C and E. I love the Good Janes H2OMyGod Moisturizer—it's sort of an all-in-one moisturizer that has vitamin C and collagen peptides. As for vitamin E, I actually just purchase the oil from the drugstore. It is super cheap and great to put on any red marks I may get from an occasional breakout. The healing process is so much quicker when I am using Vitamin E oil.”

Sometimes I’ll put some protein powder in the morning—I feel like the mix of vegetables, and vitamins and stuff that’s in them, really gives me a lot of energy in the morning. I love BBQ food—my ultimate cheat is a pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato fries, and macaroni and cheese from this great place in LA,” she told Men’s Fitness.

Ratchford also lifts weights. “Initially, I made the mistake that a lot of girls do and I was only doing cardio. I just really didn’t see too much change in my body. I’ve been listening to my girlfriends who are in great shape and they say you have to do weight training, you have to go in and do squats. That’s my new thing—I’ve been doing some resistance training, circuit training,” she told Men’s Fitness.
