3. The Key to Healthy Weight Loss

“It’s natural for anyone trying to lose weight to want to lose it very quickly. But people who lose weight gradually and steadily (about 1 to 2 pounds per week) are more successful at keeping weight off. Healthy weight loss isn’t just about a ‘diet’ or ‘program.’ It’s about an ongoing lifestyle that includes long-term changes in daily eating and exercise habits,” says the CDC. “Making the decision to lose weight, change your lifestyle, and become healthier is a big step to take. Start simply by making a commitment to yourself. Many people find it helpful to sign a written contract committing to the process. This contract may include things like the amount of weight you want to lose, the date you’d like to lose the weight by, the dietary changes you’ll make to establish healthy eating habits, and a plan for getting regular physical activity.”

4. Take Stock of Where You Are

“Consider talking to your health care provider. He or she can evaluate your height, weight, and explore other weight-related risk factors you may have. Ask for a follow-up appointment to monitor changes in your weight or any related health conditions,” says the CDC.

5. Set Realistic Goals

“Set some short-term goals and reward your efforts along the way,” says the CDC. “If your long-term goal is to lose 40 pounds and to control your high blood pressure, some short-term eating and physical activity goals might be to start eating breakfast, taking a 15 minute walk in the evenings, or having a salad or vegetable with supper. Focus on two or three goals at a time. Great, effective goals are —

  • Specific
  • Realistic
  • Forgiving (less than perfect).”

Whitney Way Thore has lost 100 pounds – and she is showing off her slimmed down figure. In a new video the My Big Fat Fabulous Life star reveals that she is down to 285 pounds, modeling a cute outfit and celebrating her father’s birthday. She also addressed claims that her weight loss is the result of medical surgery. Here is what she had to say – and everything else we know about the reality star’s weight loss.

1. She Did “Not Have Medical Intervention to Lose Weight”

“I hate addressing this, but no, I have not had medical intervention to lose weight,” Whitney wrote in her post. “In 2015 (season 1), I weighed 385 pounds. In 2018, I lost 50 pounds. When my mom got sick and eventually died, I lost 50 more. I weigh 285 pounds and I have been this weight for almost a year now. This is the second time in my life I’ve lost 100 pounds. I’m still very fat. Thank you for the compliments, but I really don’t like obsessing over my body and I don’t like it when others do it either.”

2. In September, She Also Addressed Weight Loss Surgery Claims

“I think it's obvious that I have lost some weight and that is true," she said in a September 2023 interview with ET. “And people say, like, 'Is it surgery?' and I'm like, 'No, it's grief, but thanks,'" she said, mentioning the death of her mother. "I see a lot of chatter online and people have asked me, 'Have you had weight loss surgery?' or something like that. No I haven't," Whitney continued. "On the show, I'll talk about my weight more, but in my personal life, I don't really find it necessary to talk about how much I weigh. It's just not something that I care to focus on and talk about."

3. She Doesn’t Want to Be Your Weight Loss Inspiration

No,Thanks.,?????if,You,Say,That,Something,Happens,No,ThanksShutterstock

“I’m just not out here to be anybody’s weight loss inspiration,” Whitney shared in another post, according to PEOPLE. “If you’re inclined to be inspired by me I appreciate that, I see you, but I’m just a complex human being focusing on a lot of other things in life besides losing weight. So it’s just not something I will ever feel comfortable saying thank you for.”

4. She Has a Fitness App

Whitney is a big proponent of exercise. She founded No BS Active, a size inclusive fitness app designed for people of all sizes that "makes workouts work for you by providing multiple modifications with clear instructions for all levels," per the app's description.

5. She Does Water Workouts

Whitney also gets her sweat on in the pool. In a video shared in January 2023, Whitney works out in the pool with her pops. Exercising in water is great for your joints, as it is low impact.

6. She Understands That “Thinness Does Not Equal Happiness”

“Most of my adult life consisted of dramatic weight gain, a PCOS diagnosis, self-loathing & a non-stop desire to lose weight and be this girl again — until I realized how insane this was,” Whitney wrote on Instagram in 2018, per Life & Style. “I know, because I’ve lived it, that thinness does not equal happiness and it does not equal physical or mental health.”

7. She Loves Herself

“The woman I am now can dance with reckless abandon. She can frolic in a bikini. She can demand love and respect that is not contingent on her dress size. The woman I am now can LIVE, knowing that I am completely deserving of every single wonderful thing this world has to offer,” she continued in the same post.

Adele’s new album, 30, is out today, getting rave reviews. Fans are also impressed with her weight loss. She lost 100 pounds during the pandemic lockdown, and has talked about how she did it—and, in a new interview, how she still has insecurities despite the major achievement. Read on to see 5 things Adele has to say about her outlook—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bathing Suit Photos!

1. She Still Has Things About Her Body She Does Not Like

“I don’t know if I feel different. I still have things about my body that I don’t like,” she said in an interview with The Face magazine published Thursday. “They’re not insecurities. But on the cover of Vogue, they were all trying to put me in sleeveless dresses. I was like: ’I ain’t showing my arms! Are you mad?‘ I’ve never liked my arms, ever, and I still don’t like my arms. It goes back to that thing of being thin and being happy. “Yeah, my arms are half the size, don’t mean I f–king like them! F–king hate my feet still.”

2. She Can’t Wear Stuff That Used to Fit

“There’s so much jewelry I can’t wear [now] because of my hands. No one tells you that, when someone loses weight,” she explained. “Not that I was trying to lose weight. But my rings don’t fit me anymore. Things that were gifts for my 21st birthday, I can’t f–king wear,” she told the Face.

3. She Worked Out Three Times a Day

“It was because of my anxiety. Working out, I would just feel better. It was never about losing weight, it was always about becoming strong and giving myself as much time every day without my phone. I got quite addicted to it. I work out two or three times a day,” she told British Vogue. She added: “So I do my weights in the morning, then I normally hike or I box in the afternoon, and then I go and do my cardio at night. I was basically unemployed when I was doing it. And I do it with trainers.”

4. She Can Joke About Her Weight Loss

She joked about her weight loss in her opening monologue on Saturday Night Live. "I know I look really, really different since you last saw me," Adele said. "But actually, because of all the Covid restrictions…I had to travel light and I could only bring half of me, and this is the half I chose."

5. This is What She Wants to Say with 30

With her new album 30: “I just wanted to acknowledge all of the many layers of myself, which I think is definitely something that comes with age. Obviously, after a really big life moment, like my divorce, it’s good to experiment a little bit more with sort of eclectic inspirations. I wanted to, more than anything, just comfort myself. It wasn’t really about what I wanted to say for people. It was more like: ’What do I need to hear for myself, lyrically?’ It was just my friend, [the process of] making this album. I had to spend a lot of time on my own in order to figure a lot of things out,” she told the Face.

1. She Cut Her Hair and Appreciates the “Simple Things”

spears-pink-bikiniBritney Spears/Instagram

“I cut all my hair off and now I feel like a brand new woman,” Spears captioned her bikini video. “I made a smoothie, went into my yard, turned on some Prince and laid out ... and then I put my hair up in a ponytail which made me look like Pebbles from The Flintstones and did some laundry!!! But honestly laundry is my favorite thing to do especially in the evening when the sun is setting ... I think most women secretly love doing laundry !!! I'll be honest and say that since I've been on a break from the industry I realized it was the simple things I've missed the most !!!”

2. She Works Her Core

Britney,Spears,At,The,2016,Billboard,Music,Awards,Held,AtShutterstock

How did Britney train for videos like Slave 4 U? “We did somewhere between 750 to 1,000 variations of crunches a day. We would do intervals. We’d start off on the treadmill running, and then she’d go to the mat and do bicycle crunches, hitting the transverse abdominal wall, engaging the obliques,” her trainer back then, Bobby Strom, told Life & Style. “So we’d do a combination of crunches and in between, we’d focus on light weight training. For instance, I’d have her do bicep curls, kickbacks for the triceps, and lateral raises.”

3. She Drinks Smoothies

“Before you fill the blender, ask yourself a question about that smoothie,” warns the Mayo Clinic. "Are you using it as a meal replacement, or are you having it as a beverage with your meal?" asks Mayo Clinic dietitian Kate Zeratsky. “If you’re having it as a meal replacement, you want to make sure that it has the components of a meal." Add protein, for example. And: “Fruit is a great source of natural sugar, and you need not necessarily add extra sugar," adds Zeratsky. And add some veggies: "Smoothies, with their natural sweetness, are a great way to mask some of the bitter flavors of vegetables," says Zeratsky.

4. She Runs

"I run a lot," Britney revealed in one Instagram post. Hitting the trails or a treadmill is a great way to blast calories. According to Harvard Health, a 125-pound person running at 7.5 MPH can burn 375 calories in 30 minutes. And, according to science, running can help you build muscle, lower your risk of heart disease, improve your sleep, and even add years to your life.

5. She Knows Taking Moments for Herself is Important

Los,Angeles,,Ca,-,August,30,,2015:,Britney,Spears,AtShutterstock

“Hi guys, just checking in with all of you who are concerned about me,” she said in an Instagram clip in 2019. “All is well. My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to deal, but don’t worry, I’ll be back very soon.” “I am trying to take a moment for myself, but everything that’s happening is just making it harder for me,” she continued. And: “You may not know this about me, but I am strong, and stand up for what I want!” she shared in the post. “Your love and dedication is amazing, but what I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way. If you could do that, I would be forever grateful. Love you.”

Adele is finally opening up about her weight loss. Read on to see 7 of the revelations Adele made about her diet and fitness journey and see the photos that prove they work—and to get beach-ready yourself, don't miss these essential 30 Best-Ever Celebrity Bikini Photos!

1. It Was Never About Weight Loss

The singer revealed to American Vogue that her drive to exercise was more about her mental health than physical. "It became my time," she said about exercise. "I realized that when I was working out, I didn't have any anxiety. It was never about losing weight. I thought, If I can make my body physically strong, and I can feel that and see that, then maybe one day I can make my emotions and my mind physically strong."

2. She Does Weightlifting and Circuit Training

Rows,Of,Dumbbells,In,The,Gym,With,Hign,Contrast,AndShutterstock

Adele also revealed that she trains at Heart & Hustle, a no-frills private gym in West Hollywood. Her exercise sessions consist of intensive weightlifting and circuit training sessions. She also spends time on the elliptical machine while at the gym.

3. She Works Out Three Times a Day

Adele works out multiple times a day. “I work out two or three times a day,” she revealed to British Vogue. “So I do my weights in the morning, then I normally hike or I box in the afternoon, and then I go and do my cardio at night. I was basically unemployed when I was doing it. And I do it with trainers. It’s not doable for a lot of people.”

4. Exercise Is Her Addiction

Adele admits that she is obsessed with exercise, telling British Vogue “I needed to get addicted to something to get my mind right. It could have been knitting, but it wasn’t.

5. She Did It For Herself

Adele wants to make it clear that she didn’t lose 100 pounds for anyone but herself. “People are shocked because I didn’t share my ‘journey’. They’re used to people documenting everything on Instagram, and most people in my position would get a big deal with a diet brand. I couldn’t give a flying f**k. I did it for myself and not anyone else. So why would I ever share it? I don’t find it fascinating. It’s my body,” she told British Vogue.

6. ”You Don’t Need to Be Overweight to Be Body Positive”

59th GRAMMY AwardsAxelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic

Adele explains that no matter her size or what people say about her, she has mad self-love. “People have been talking about my body for 12 years. They used to talk about it before I lost weight. But yeah, whatever, I don’t care,” she said. “You don’t need to be overweight to be body positive, you can be any shape or size.”

7. She Doesn’t Diet

“You know a hundred per cent of the stories written about me have been absolutely fake. The people that came out being like, ‘I trained her,’ I’ve never met in my life. It’s disgusting. I cannot get over it. Some Pilates lady I’ve never met in my life!” she told British Vogue. “And I haven’t done any diet,” she adds, confirming that she “ain’t done” the Sirtfood diet, despite it being widely reported. “No intermittent fasting. Nothing. If anything I eat more than I used to because I work out so hard. And also, that whole thing of like, ‘Gets Revenge Body’… Oh my god. Suck my dick!”

Dani Elle Speegle isn’t just strong—she’s unstoppable. The elite CrossFit athlete and social media sensation has built a massive following by sharing her intense training sessions and inspiring fitness moments. Recently, she posted a series of weightlifting photos on Instagram, proving once again why she’s a powerhouse in the gym.

“Just a girl and her barbell,” she captioned the post, letting her strength do the talking. From lifting heavy to outdoor adventures, here’s how Speegle stays in peak condition.

She Lifts Weights

In her Instagram post, Speegle is seen lifting weights. According to ACE Fitness, doing this has a lot of benefits. “Using heavy weights increases intramuscular coordination, the number of type II motor units and the amount of muscle fibers engaged within a specific muscle. Have you ever felt your muscles shaking while lifting heavy weights? This is because you are recruiting and activating the larger type II muscle fibers, which are only stimulated to work when a muscle is challenged with heavy resistance or working to fatigue.”

She Golfs

Speegle likes to golf to keep herself in shape. She shared a video of herself on the course in this Instagram post. According to Randa aerobic exercise. “Golf can help strength and balance, improve quality of life and provide aerobic exercise. On a regular 18-hole course, most players will walk between four and five miles, burning up to 2,000 calories.”

She's Into Jumping Rope

Speegle shared this video on Instagram of herself competing in Crossfit events. In it, she is seen jumping rope. According to The Cleveland Clinic, jumping rope has a lot of benefits. “Benefits of jump rope can help improve your coordination, get your heart rate going and help burn calories — and it’s an easy, affordable way to get some cardio in.”

She Hikes

Speegle likes to hike to keep herself in shape. She shared this photo on Instagram of herself hiking the Koko Head Summit. Speegle captioned the post, “Woke up and chose pain today. Every 45 min X 3 rounds: Koko head 💀💀💀 Then sat in my car and stared into the abyss while munching on Banan 🥲🥲🥲”

She Does Cold Plunges

Speegle makes sure to recover. One thing she likes to do is cold plunges. Speegle shared this video of herself jumping into a tub. According to The Mayo Clinic, these have a lot of benefits. “Research on cold-water immersion has found evidence that it helps reduce the degree of exercise-induced muscle damage that can occur after physically challenging activities. Less damage leads to less inflammation, which in turn reduces soreness and helps restore physical performance the next day. These benefits may be the result of rapid constriction of the blood vessels due to the cold water. The cold can trigger responses in your body, such as decreased metabolic activity, alterations in hormone production and blood flow, and activation of the immune system.”

Golfer Tvesa Malik in Two-Piece Workout Gear Shares "Awesome" Exercises

Discover how Tvesa Malik, SuperSport Ladies Championship winner, stays in peak shape with weightlifting, core work, and golf.

Golfer Tvesa Malik in Two-Piece Workout Gear Shares "Awesome" Exercises
Tvesa Malik / Instagram

Tvesa Malik isn’t just a pro golfer—she’s a powerhouse athlete dedicated to staying in peak shape. The SuperSport Ladies Championship winner knows that strength and endurance are just as important as skill on the course. That’s why she takes her fitness seriously, incorporating weightlifting, core work, and mobility exercises into her training.

Last year, Malik gave fans a look at her workout routine in an Instagram video, where she powered through hanging crunches, lunges, and weightlifting sessions. She captioned the post, “Got some major work to do before my next session,” proving that even elite athletes are always striving to improve. Here’s a closer look at how Malik keeps her body strong and ready for competition.

She Lifts Weights

Malik is seen doing a lot of weight lifting in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness says that this has a lot of benefits. “Lifting heavy weights elevates levels of anabolic hormones—specifically testosterone, growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1)—which are used to repair muscle fibers damaged during exercise. This helps the muscle fibers to become thicker and capable of generating higher levels of force.”

She Does Lunges

Malik is seen shifting into lunges in her Instagram video. ACE Fitness says that lunges are a form of unilateral training, and that makes them effective. “Unilateral training is a more effective way to build functional strength (than using both legs) because these types of movement mimic other everyday motions, like walking and climbing stairs — and not just to the working leg. Research suggests the strength gains to the nonworking side are about half of the strength gains of the working side.”

She Does Core Workouts

Malik is seen doing core workouts, like hanging crunches in her Instagram video. Core workouts are extremely important. The Mayo Clinic says, “While it takes aerobic activity to burn fat in your stomach, core exercises can strengthen and tone the underlying muscles. Strong core muscles make it easier to do many activities. When your core muscles are strong, it's easier to swing a golf club, get a glass from the top shelf and bend down to tie your shoes.”

She Does Pull-Ups

An upper body workout that Malik likes to do is pull-ups. She shared this video on Instagram of herself doing them at the gym. Malik captioned it, “Got some major work to do before my next session.” Asphalt Green says that pull-ups have a lot of benefits. “Pull-ups are a fantastic way to improve upper-body strength. This exercise primarily targets your back and biceps, but involves many stabilizing muscles in your core, arms, and shoulders. Depending on the way you grip the bar, you can even work your chest. Plus, you don’t need any fancy equipment to do a pull-up. Tree branches, scaffolding, and even door frames are all places people can do pull-ups.”

She Golfs

Golf is obviously one of the ways that Malik keeps herself in shape. Better Health says that the sport has a lot of benefits. “Golf can be good for your health and your heart. Walking an average course for a round of golf can be between five to seven kilometres. If you walk 18 holes three to five times a week, you’ll get an optimal amount of endurance exercise for your heart. Camila Guper is more than just a fitness influencer—she’s a motivation powerhouse. With 1.1 million Instagram followers, she inspires her audience with workout routines, wellness tips, and a disciplined approach to staying fit. Recently, she took to Instagram to share a glimpse of her latest gym session, including a stairclimber workout, a snapshot of her Apple Watch tracking her progress, and a post-workout mirror selfie in pink workout gear.

Her message? Consistency is key. “Don't underestimate the power of small, consistent actions! Every effort is worth it when you know where you want to go,” she captioned the post. From intense stair workouts to leg-sculpting exercises, here’s how Guper stays in top shape.

She Uses A Stairclimber

In her Instagram post, Guper is seen using the stairclimber. Stair workouts have a lot of health benefits. ACE Fitness says, “Improving metabolic health in terms of lower risks of heart problems and other complications, also by definition improves fitness. You can feel your heart working harder and the fire in your lungs when you ascend stairs. And that’s provoking important changes in your cardiorespiratory system that will make physical activities, like running and walking, feel easier.”

She’s Consistent

Guper makes sure to stay consistent with her workout routines. One way she does so is by staying disciplined. Guper talked about this in the caption of this Instagram post. “Good morning! May we always have the discipline to do what is good for us. Amen 💪🏽🙏🏽✨ 40 min stair + shoulder and chest workout today.”

She Does Lunges

Guper shared some of her favorite lower body workouts in this Instagram video. One thing she is seen doing is lunges. According to The Mayo Clinic, lunges have a lot of benefits. “The lunge is a body resistance exercise that works the leg muscles. Specifically, the lunge targets the quadriceps and the hamstring muscles in the thigh, the gluteal muscles in the buttock, and to a lesser extent, the lower leg muscles.”

She Does Leg Extensions

In the previous Instagram video, Guper is seen using the leg extension machine. Asphalt Green says that leg extensions have a lot of benefits. “These machines provide isolation exercises for your legs. This type of exercise works only one muscle or group of muscles, which means you can build up that part of your body quickly. If you want your thigh muscles to really stand out in those shorts you just bought, the leg extension machine is for you!”

She Spends Time Outside

Guper likes to spend time outside. She shared this set of photos on Instagram of herself enjoying a day by the pool with her dog. Guper captioned the post, “Good Morning! What book are you reading? 📖💚🐺🌮 I'm loving reading How to become super natural! I'm already sharing saying it's a must-read.”
