1. She Practices Intermittent Fasting
Burke follows the 16:8 intermittent fasting diet, which means she has an 8 hour eating window and fasts for 16 hours. “I’ve been intermittent fasting for years and it’s been a game-changer for me, not only digestively, but it’s also the most convenient way of living I’ve experienced,” she says. “I make it very simple and basically eat in an eight-hour window. The way that I eat is smart and conscious; I don’t skimp on flavor and I’m not hungry. It’s been the best program that I’ve ever found.”
2. She Drinks Plenty Of Water

“Hydrate! Believe it or not, water is your best friend for youthful beauty,” Burke says. “Increasing your water intake will help replenish your skin and body and curb your appetite. Intermittent fasting allows your body more time to rest and recover, which is imperative while aging. Get your Zs. A good night’s sleep reduces stress, improves metabolism and gives you the energy to live a vigorous and healthy life.”
3. She Follows a Mediterranean Diet

Burke enjoys healthy fats as part of her Mediterranean-inspired diet. “A lot of good fats go into my body for brain health, energy, metabolism,” Burke says. "Just how much impact can diet have? A Mediterranean style of eating reduced heart disease risk by 28 to 30 percent in a large 2013 study from Spain,” says Johns Hopkins Medicine. “But you don’t have to live near the Mediterranean to get the benefits. In a 2013 study that tracked a diverse group of 6,229 American women and men, ages 44 to 84, for eight years, Johns Hopkins researchers and others found that a Mediterranean-style diet combined with regular exercise, a healthy weight, and not smoking protected against early heart disease, slowed the build-up of plaque in artery walls, and reduced risk for an early death by 80 percent.”
4. She Meditates

Burke starts the day with meditation. “I love taking an extra five minutes in the morning. I’m a big believer in sleep—I never compromise that,” she says. “So, I’m listening to sleep playlists—sleep frequencies at night—to make sure that common sounds are not disrupting my sleep routine. Working out daily has been really great for me for stretch recovery, dopamine, adrenaline, metabolism and energy. I do a lot of sound healing with the crystal sound bowls. Those frequencies really shift you into a different space and can help you get out of an uncomfortable space. I use those now in my meditation classes that I teach in Malibu.”
5. She Knows How To Fuel Her Body

“In my 20s, I did not know how to fuel and feed my body,” Burke says. “I spent too much time weighing food, working my body for endless hours in the gym, and making sacrifices that were not enjoyable. I wish I would’ve known about good fats. And how to fuel my brain and body with mindful nutrition. I have more delicious food freedom today. For example, I practice intermittent fasting. I spend less time sculpting my body now than I did in my 20s because I know how to target, tone, use compound moves and hit all the trouble areas to get the most out of a shorter workout.
