Camila Mendes is an actress, best known for playing the iconic character of Veronica Lodge on Riverdale. Mendes also has a partnership with Loops facemasks. She just shared a new reel for the product on Instagram. In it, Mendes modeled the different masks in different outfits, including a bathing suit. She captioned the post, “Just thought you should know.” And another photo: "Weekly reset." How does she stay so fit? 1. She’s Spending Less Time On Her Phone

Person,Using,A,Social,Media,Marketing,Concept,On,Mobile,PhoneShutterstock

Mendes tells Vogue that she is working on her wellbeing. One thing she is doing is spending less time on her phone, and she has a tool to help her. “One of my favourite things is an app called Forest,” Mendes revealed. “I use it all the time when I feel like I’ve been scrolling through Instagram too long and haven’t been able to peel away – sometimes you feel paralysed by the scrolling. So I got this app. Now, every time I start to feel glued to my phone, I quickly go to the app and set the timer. It holds you accountable for staying away from your phone; I’ll do 20 minutes not looking at it. It grows trees – every time you set a timer, it’ll grow a tree and by the end of the month or week you can look back and see all the trees you’ve grown. It’s really beautiful – little self-care trees!”

2. She Focuses On How She Applies Skincare Products

Mendes has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it. She revealed some of her secrets and favorite products to Vogue. Mendes says that she is conscious of how she applies things to her face. “I try to be conscious of how I’m applying the product. I always try to pat it in but sometimes that can take a lot longer. Mostly I try to push the product upwards, instead of pulling down on my skin. That’s something I’ve learned from going to facials: always applying product in upward motions.”

3. She Pays Attention To Her Skincare

For Mendes, skincare is important. She tells Byrdie, “I like creating routines so that I don't have to think about them... so they're second nature. But, then you're not living your life. You're living on autopilot. And with skincare, I've been trying to be more present and actually assess my skin like a facialist would to see what the situation is. That's how I should look at my skin every day.

4. She Makes Health A Priority

Mendes opened up about her health and wellness journey to People. She says that she is working on actively taking care of herself, and making it a priority. Mendes says she feels better when she’s healthy. “I just notice a difference when I’m taking care of myself,” she says. “Everything else in my life feels great.”

5. She Doesn’t Think About Her Weight

Mendes tells People that her weight isn’t a priority for her. She says that she used to obsess over it, and is working on changing this. “Don’t think about your weight. Don’t think about what you look like. It’s what you do with your body that matters.”

1. She Has a Stable Routine

How has Mendes kept steady during the pandemic? “Having a stable workout routine, and creating a routine in the morning,” she told Self. “My current routine is very soothing in the morning, and it gets me excited to start my day. Once I’ve done that routine, I feel like I can do anything. Usually, I wake up, I make my coffee, I write in my five-minute journal, I get ready for my workout, I go to my workout, then I come home and shower. And I feel like I have a whole day ahead, and I’ve already done so many things for myself mentally and physically. So having that routine in the morning has been really helpful.”

2. She Meditates

“I’ve been trying to meditate whenever I feel like I need it,” she told Self. “Whenever I feel like my heart rate’s kind of high, and I’m a little anxious and on edge and unable to focus, I try to set out 10 minutes to meditate in that moment and reset and ground myself again. I use an app, Balance. I think that’s really what it is—just learning the tools that you need and moments when you need them.”

3. She Journals

Mendes uses “a journal that’s made with questions—every page has morning questions and night questions, and it only takes five minutes to do,” she told Self. “They're pretty straightforward questions, but they’re the kind of questions that immediately get you thinking about positive things. The five-minute journal was something I already did before the pandemic. A lot of these are things I’d been doing, but now I think I do them more consistently, and I’ve started to appreciate and value their role in my life more.”

4. She Knows Health is More Important Than Appearance

Los,Angeles,-,May,13:,Camila,Mendes,Arrives,For,The'the

Mendes onces reportedly had an eating disorder. "I've only recently kind of gotten better," she told Women’s Health. "It's something that's still a curse to me. It's not like that ever goes away….Whenever I do feel insecure, I go back to health. What can I do that's healthy? Health is what's important, not appearance. That mentality is what takes me out of the insecure, anxious thoughts."

5. She No Longer Diets

Los,Angeles,-,May,13:,Camila,Mendes,Arrives,For,The'the

"About a year ago, I decided to stop dieting and chasing this idea of a body that I was conditioned to believe is the only acceptable shape," she captioned a photo on Instagram. "I was never concerned with weight and numbers, but I cared a lot about having a flat tummy, no cellulite, and those 'give that girl a sandwich' arms that make you look slender from every angle." "I started trusting myself, and trusting that I care enough about my well-being to make healthy choices more often than not," she wrote. "But also I started allowing myself to make 'bad' choices. Because those made me feel free, and like I wasn't trapped in an unhappy lifestyle."

1. She Has Had Body Image Issues

Words,Eating,Disorder,With,Highlighter,And,Measuring,TapeShutterstock

“One time I met a fan on an airplane,” she told InStyle. “I think we were both coming back from Brasília, which is where my parents are from in Brazil. She and I were both headed back to LA and she came up to me when I was in line to get on the flight and then we found out that we were sitting next to each other and we ended up talking for the entire, I dunno, eight hour flight. I can't remember how long it was, but she and I talked about how we both had body image issues and how she also struggled with an eating disorder and how I helped her accept herself and she expressed her appreciation for the things I've spoken about and shared her story and it was really emotional and she's still a friend that I keep in touch with sometimes.”

2. She Uses Skin Masks

Mendes uses Loop skin masks. “I use them all the time. For me, I am somebody who's always struggled to find masks that fit on my face with loops. It actually just sticks on your face so well, and you can do laundry and talk on the phone and I don't know, you can do cartwheels if you want. You can literally do anything while wearing a Loops mask. And on top of that, it's really good skincare and the way that we weave it into a sort of daily skincare routine just makes it really convenient to use and very effective,” she told InStyle.

3. Speak Up For Yourself

Los,Angeles,-,Mar,12:,Camila,Mendes,At,The,2023Shutterstock

In Hollywood, she has learned “that nobody's going to look after you except yourself and you got to look out for yourself. You got to stand up for yourself and if you have a problem, speak up. Just do it respectfully and with grace. That's it,” she told InStyle.

4. She Remembers Her Riverdale Audition

Los,Angeles,-,Nov,15:,Camila,Mendes,Arrives,For,TheShutterstock

For her Riverdale audition, “I was the very last person they were seeing and I managed to squeeze in an audition and I got there 30 minutes late. My hair was frizzy. It was raining that day. I remember the casting director telling me, she's like, ‘You're a little matte right now. At CW, we're glossy.’ It's glossy lips. Cheeks are glowing. She's like, so come back a few days from now. Then they brought me back for a producer audition,” she told Stephen Colbert. Her friend did her makeup to make her look “glowy, like she just came out of the womb.”

5. She Does Pilates

Pilates offers numerous health benefits tailored to women's well-being. This low-impact exercise enhances core strength, promoting better posture and reducing back pain common in females. By focusing on controlled movements and breathing, Pilates cultivates flexibility, aiding in muscle tone without bulk. Women also benefit from improved joint mobility and balance, which becomes increasingly important with age. Stress reduction is another advantage, as Pilates encourages mindfulness and relaxation. Whether aiming to regain pre-pregnancy fitness or boost overall vitality, women find Pilates a versatile solution, enhancing physical resilience and mental equilibrium simultaneously.

1. She Starts Her Day with Exercise

"I strive to be super consistent — as consistent as I can be. Whenever I have a day off, I will make a point to work out in the morning,” Camila recently told Shape. Even when she can’t get a full workout in, she makes sure to stay active, “I definitely move my body every day,” she added Health.

2. She Takes Classes, Plays Tennis, and Does Circuit Training

Camila maintains variety with exercise. “I go through phases when it comes to what I like to do—I've taken lots of different classes and all that,” she told Health. She also works with a trainer and during their workouts "does a lot of circuit training, she added to Shape. She also plays tennis.

3. She Uses a Theragun

Netflix and Elle Celebrate Latinas In HollywoodPresley Ann/Getty Images

Camila is a big fan of using a Theragun post workout sessions. "She really gets into my hamstrings. I laugh uncontrollably every time (because it's really painful!) but it's also ticklish. It adds to my routine and I like giving attention to my body in that sort of way," she told Shape.

4. She Meditates

2023 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Radhika Jones - ArrivalsJon Kopaloff/Getty Images

Camila takes me time when things get "overwhelming" at work. "I'll text production and say, 'Hey I'm going to meditate in my trailer for ten minutes. Please don't knock unless it's urgent.' And then I turn off all the lights, sit on the floor, take out my phone, and meditate using the Balance app,” she told Shape. “For me, it's taking care of myself in the most immediate way,” she added to Health. “What do I need—and what does my body need right now? Sometimes I'll randomly sit down and check in and be like: ‘What does my body want? Do I need water, sleep, or to move around and stretch? Should I journal?’ I think being well is about checking in with your physical and mental health and evaluating what you really need at that moment.”

5. She Doesn’t Diet

“My relationship with food was very weird for a while—I had an eating disorder,” she told Health. “I got through it by seeing [my] therapist and working with a nutritionist who was very adamant about me overcoming my fear of carbs. I used to not eat carbs—but that would just lead me to binge on them after avoiding them for a while. I tried all the diets—I was always on a diet. But I eventually learned they weren't helping me at all.”

6. She Eats for Nourishment

Camila focuses on nourishing her body with food. “As soon as I started listening to my body and eating what my body needed—which sometimes is eating the things I used to think were bad, like sugar and bread—I noticed a big change,” she dished to Health. “The crazy lesson was that your body tells you what it wants and needs; you just have to learn how to listen to it. It takes a while to learn that—it's hard. And what one woman needs isn't going to be the same as what another woman needs. We're all different.”

Rayna Vallandingham is flashing her washboard abs – in a two-piece exercise set from Alo. In a new social media post the actress flaunts her impressive midsection during a workout at the gym. “dojang diaries,” she captioned the series of snaps. “Magnific! Very very beautiful,” commented one of her followers. “♥️More like diaries of a hottie♥️” added another. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here are her top lifestyle tips.

Be Consistent

Consistency – at the gym and the martial arts studio – is the key to success. "It is a way of life," Rayna says. "It's not only teaching your body movements and being in synchronicity with your body, but also just like the mental aspect of it."

Fight Your Way to a Hot Body

Rayna is a big fan of martial arts. She has been doing taekwondo since she was 2, earning her first black belt at 6. "In the very beginning, my parents put me in the sport because I was just really shy, and I think they could tell that I needed something," says Vallandingham, who lives and trains in Los Angeles. "Immediately, I just loved it. I felt at home, and every single day, instead of watching Dora, I wanted to go to the dojo,” she told Well + Good. Studies confirm that the practice helps with balance, cognitive function, psychological health, weight loss, and physical fitness.

Work on Strength and Flexibility

Rayna recommends prioritizing strength, flexibility, and power. "Of the three, I think strength and flexibility are the top two," Vallandingham says. "We used to have people stand on my legs and force my knees to come down in butterfly stretch," she says. "I have permanent damage to my body—I have tendonitis [because of this]."

Lift Weights

If you want a strong, lean body like Vallandingham, you must lift for it. The star strength trains, focusing on supersets, doing two moves back-to-back that target the same muscle groups to double down on their gains. One of her favorite exercises is a goblet squat. She stands with her feet shoulder-width apart, folded forward until she can slide her palms underneath her soles (you could also hold your ankles or calves), then bends her knees, lowering her butt toward the floor while lifting her chest, coming into a deep squat. She'll bend and extend her legs several times in this position. Then, it's on to the main event, holding a weight in her hands while bending down into a deep squat. "I love utilizing a Bosu ball—they're pretty much in every single gym," she adds.

Stretch

Rayna never skips stretching. She starts by by lying on the floor with her legs up the wall and then allowing them to open out into a side split. "I let gravity do its work because that's my body telling me, okay, this is where we're at," she says. "My hips are opening on their own, and I'm not having to force anything." “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints,” says Harvard Health. “Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”

Charli Hawkins is training in the snow – in her two-piece workout gear. In a new social media post the Olympian shows off her fantastic figure – including her flat abs – in an exercise set while enjoying the winter weather. “TRAINING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND! ❄️🥶❤️✨Gearing up in this altitude for the LONDON MARATHON this April! I’m so excited to see what my mind and body can make happen! To my marathon runners: it’s your time to shine, PLEASE tell me ALL of your tips, all of your advice, and for all of you who understand what I’m about to attempt, please send your words of encouragement 😂 Also feel free to try to talk me out of this as well thanks👍 We are on the training countdown. Turning a sprinter, jumper, and thrower into a long distance runner 🫣🙌 What do you think my time will be?” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Minfulness and Meditation

Charli practices mindfulness. Before going for a run, she says words of intention. “I am willing. I am grateful. I surrender,” she revealed during an interview with San Diego Magazine. Meditation:

“When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress,” says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:

  • Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
  • Building skills to manage your stress
  • Increasing self-awareness
  • Focusing on the present
  • Reducing negative emotions
  • Increasing imagination and creativity
  • Increasing patience and tolerance
  • Lowering resting heart rate
  • Lowering resting blood pressure
  • Improving sleep quality

Stretching

She also makes sure to stretch. “If you ever can think of some dynamic stretches: F.A.S.T. ✨🙌 My left hip and right QLs have been SO tight lately so I’m on a journey of getting them right! What’s bugging you at the moment???” she captioned a post. “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints,” says Harvard Health. “Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”

Here Is The Right Way To Run

During her interview with San Diego, Charli explained how you should be running. “Remember, the sole of the foot is showing right in front of us,” she said, doing a type of high-knee movement. “To do this, you’re over exaggerating your running form while standing still. Raise your knee up, point your toes to the clouds (forming an A), and then pedal the sole of your foot forward before striking your knee down. It’s more complicated than it sounds after 30-plus years of moving a certain way,” the writer explained.

Positive Attitude

In a recent post Charli revealed things she learned about positivity. “Patience is easier when it isn’t required,” she said. “The people around you are BLESSINGS (which I feel like I already understood but sometimes it’s nice to have it emphasized).” Also, “We are up, we are down, but trusting the process sometimes means knowing that it’s all good even when it’s not the best” and “Making a plan is the best option for everything. It’s ok if the plan doesn’t go perfect, but just willy-nilly-ing it is not the best option when you want to get things done.”

Never Giving Up

Charli refuses to give up. “Understand what you want first, and then go for it. Then keep going for it all the time, and, eventually, you’ll get it,” she said during her interview.
