Mendes tells Vogue that she is working on her wellbeing. One thing she is doing is spending less time on her phone, and she has a tool to help her. "One of my favourite things is an app called Forest," Mendes revealed. "I use it all the time when I feel like I've been scrolling through Instagram too long and haven't been able to peel away – sometimes you feel paralysed by the scrolling. So I got this app. Now, every time I start to feel glued to my phone, I quickly go to the app and set the timer. It holds you accountable for staying away from your phone; I'll do 20 minutes not looking at it. It grows trees – every time you set a timer, it'll grow a tree and by the end of the month or week you can look back and see all the trees you've grown. It's really beautiful – little self-care trees!"

Mendes has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it. She revealed some of her secrets and favorite products to Vogue. Mendes says that she is conscious of how she applies things to her face. "I try to be conscious of how I'm applying the product. I always try to pat it in but sometimes that can take a lot longer. Mostly I try to push the product upwards, instead of pulling down on my skin. That's something I've learned from going to facials: always applying product in upward motions."

She Pays Attention To Her Skincare

For Mendes, skincare is important. She tells Byrdie, "I like creating routines so that I don't have to think about them… so they're second nature. But, then you're not living your life. You're living on autopilot. And with skincare, I've been trying to be more present and actually assess my skin like a facialist would to see what the situation is. That's how I should look at my skin every day.
