Giraldo loves Lebanese food such as fattoush salad made with extra virgin olive oil. "Extra-virgin olive oil is pressed mechanically from ripe olives and processed without high heat or chemical solvents," says Howard E. LeWine, MD. "This protects chemicals in the oil called phenols. In contrast, regular, highly processed olive oils lose these chemicals. Small laboratory-based experiments suggest that higher concentrations of phenols may provide extra antioxidant effects. Even so, there are no definitive studies that show extra-virgin olive oil has a greater ability than refined oil to prevent heart problems, cancer or other diseases."

Coffee Is a Must

Giraldo believes there is nothing a good coffee can't fix. "Research findings suggest that caffeine improves weight management through boosting metabolic rate and burning fat," says registered nutritionist Nicola Shubrook. "Researchers have speculated, therefore, that caffeine may show promise in the treatment of obesity, although more research is needed."

She Loves to Dance

Hamilton loves dancing. "We know that movement is good for everyone," says Emily Sandow, supervisor of dance physical therapy at NYU Langone's Harkness Center for Dance Injuries. "A healthy lifestyle is integrating the mind, body and soul relationship, and dance has all of those characteristics. Everyone can do something, even if it's just you just tapping your foot. Everyone can do something where they can move their body to music, and that's really valuable."

Self-Love First

Giraldo knows the importance of loving her body no matter what the scales say. The actress lost weight and says it was an act of self-care. "I did the self love diet which is the best of all and not thinking about what they are going to say, but about what you want as a person and as a person," she says
