1. She Repeats Affirmations
Cortesi opened up about her process for competing in the Miss Universe pageant in this interview. In it, she says that she tries to stay positive going into the competition. In particular, Cortesi likes to have certain affirmations that she repeats to herself. She says that “You’re ready,” “You’re worthy,” and “You’re gonna be fine,” are some of them.
2. She’s Charitable
Cortesi is very charitable. One cause she is passionate about is helping children in need. She made this her platform in the Miss Universe pageant. Cortesi talked about this in a statement she released. "In amplifying the voices of the children who need our help, I wanted to bring them with me on the Miss Universe stage. The imprints all over the cape remind me that having a title means to have a purpose beyond myself.”
3. She Works Out Her Arms
Cortesi makes sure to stay in shape. One thing she likes to do is arm workouts. She shares a lot of upper body workouts on Instagram. Cortesi shared this video of herself doing lateral bar pulldowns in the gym. She captioned the posts, “Never not training.” Cortesi also posted this set of videos and photos of herself at the gym. In them, she is seen doing lateral pulldowns with rope and shoulder presses.
4. She Swims
Cortesi likes to spend time outside. One thing in particular she enjoys doing is going swimming. She shares a lot of posts on Instagram of herself by the water. Cortesi posted this photo of herself wading in a lake by a waterfall. She captioned the post, “Little paradise.” She also shared this photo of herself wading in Siargao Island, captioning it, “I sea you.”
5. She Doesn’t Restrict Herself Too Much
In the same interview, Cortesi opened up about her diet prior to the pageant. She says that she doesn’t like to restrict herself too much when it comes to food. Cortesi says that she opts for a balanced diet. “I’m actually eating a lot because the food is amazing,” she admits. “Whenever I go through some pressure or stress, I lose a little bit of weight. But I’m trying to maintain my weight because I don’t wanna, obviously I wanna look healthy, I wanna be strong on stage.”
