Make Healthy Eating a Lifestyle

Chantel "eats pretty healthy" but how she approaches nutrition is "not really dieting," she explained to the Daily Mail. "'There's things I don't eat, and it's become a lifestyle. I have problems with a lot of different foods and when I eat them I don't feel so good so I try to stick to exactly what I'm supposed to eat so that I don't feel sick and then I just stay in shape because everything's pretty healthy."

2

Eliminate Sugar, Dairy, and Gluten From Your Diet

Chantel avoids eating a few different things. "I try to stay away from sugar as much as possible," she added to the Daily Mail. "I don't eat dairy or gluten because I'm allergic." Sugar is truly dangerous. In a review of literature in PLOS Medicine, the authors looked at 18 scientific conclusions drawn from systematic reviews of studies on the link between sugar-sweetened beverage consumption and weight gain or obesity. Among reviews conducted by scientists without any reported conflict of interest, 10 out of 12 found that sodas and other sugary beverages could be a risk factor from weight gain.

3

Take a Walk Right After a Meal

Chantel has an interesting tactic to optimize digestion. "'Whenever I'm home, every time I finish a large meal I like to go for a nice walk. It's good to digest your food and clear your head anyways," she told Daily Mail.

4

She even shared a page from her diet journal on Twitter revealing the go-to foods in her high protein, high fat" diet. She eats lots of turkey bacon, coconut, olives, avocado, ground turkey, eggs, kale, mushroom, peppers, spinach, fish, chia seeds and cauliflower rice.

Hydrate

Chantel prioritizes hydration. In her food diary she noted that avoids drinking her calories (so no fruit juice) and instead drinks "lots of water." "So how much fluid does the average, healthy adult living in a temperate climate need? The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is: About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men. About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women," says the Mayo Clinic.
