She Has Gone to Extremes to Lose Weight

Charu once went to extreme lengths to lose weight for a television show. "Weight loss journey wasn't easy for me. I did a very strict diet for my show called Johri. I had to reduce weight because they had to show me as a 16-17 year-old and then grow from there eventually. So I had to reduce weight quickly," she told Times of India. "I stopped eating. I was off sugar, off milk. I was on a strict diet Sometimes I used to only have fruits or dry fruits in the morning and drink black coffee. I used to work out for 2 hours everyday at the gym. I never took a rest in between and rather went to shoot for long hours. It was quite hectic for me."

Despite the lengths she went to, Charu doesn't recommend crash diets. "I think ideally one should not reach a stage where you have to go on crash diets. Crash Diets are bad for your body. You need to be conscious on daily basis. I feel workouts and healthy eating should be a part of everyone's lifestyle," she said, per Prokerala. "For me, working out and eating healthy is a part of my lifestyle. I am careful about what and how much I eat but I do not deprive myself of anything. I don't indulge into crash diets for a particular shoot. I know people who eat in a crazy way and then suddenly they want a perfect body, and to achieve that they go on crash diets which takes a heavy toll on their body in the long term."

One must not come in peer pressure and aim for six pack abs or a size zero figure. You should be fit and healthy. Thin is out. Fit is the new sexy."
